Default Not a cook - Pureed starts Monday - easy, quick suggestions?

I see a bunch of cool recipes for salmon, Italian etc, - I am not a cook, used to be happy with a big bowl of cereal. Can anyone get me started with some easy stuff that you can have? When I look up pureed foods I get a bunch of sites on homemade baby food, or dips. What were the top 5 things you ate that got you through this stage? All that comes to mind for me is applesauce and malt o meal (cream of wheat warm cereal) - I don't own a blender, but have a immersion blender, and I was loaned a baby food processor (they used it for baby food but hey, it must do similar right?) Suggestions of quick, easy things please?

instant oatmeal with sugar free applesauce?? mozzerella cheese sticks??? Depending on what you will be allowed. Cream of chicken (or other flavors) soup, pureed carrots, mixed veggies....I bought baby food stage 2 for my pureed stage and I also love the 2x protien Dannon Yogurt. It is YUMMY!!! You won't be able to eat the whole thing but it really does sit well. Or even egg whites....if allowed

I basically ate cream of wheat, yogurt and protein shakes all week until the next phase started.

I did Progresso Light soups and used my blending stick to purée everything in it. They worked great & tasted good!

I did chicken noodle soup in the blender. Also a soft scrambled egg with applesauce. Mashed potatoes.

--refried beans nuked with a tablespoon of shredded cheese
--poached egg or scrambled egg with melted cheese
    --Greek yogurt
    --Fat free cottage cheese
--try a spoonful of peanut butter or almond butter stirred in with the yogurt or cottage cheese - delicious and adds more protein and possibly even some fiber depending on what you use
--get those little packets of tuna or salmon and puree them in that food processor with some sauces. Some of the ones I did: sweet & spicy tuna with sriracha sauce, hickory smoked tuna with low cal bbq sauce, lemon dill salmon with olive oil mayo, lemon pepper tuna with remoulade.
--do the same thing with canned chicken or turkey -- try things like vodka sauce, marinara sauce, peanut satay sauce, etc. Just walk through your local grocery and pick up sauces that look good to you.
IMO it's good to go easy (or nonexistent) on stuff that isn't high protein, like hot cereals or applesauce. I wasn't permitted anything low protein on purees, but follow your own guidelines of course.

These suggestions are all great! So I can take a pc of salmon or tuna & add something like a tiny bit of sauce & just blend it? Poached eggs/scrambled eggs were also mentioned, - just cook regular & mix with a stick blender ? My dietitian has given me very little guidance on this except to say pureed. And if I eat greek yogurt - do I need to blend that only if it has fruit chunks in it?

Is pureed anything you just don't have to chew at all?

I am one of those people that rather than make a mistake, that I would just eat one or two things for the two weeks - (like I have on the full liquids)
I am pretty easy to please and just don't want to do anything too soon or to throw things off. :-) Thanks for the suggestions.

Hummus, Mashed sweet potatoes and greek yogurt were my best friend after surgery. We have a Low Carb Group on facebook to share recipes and low carb living ideas. Not many pureed recipes but you can't get some great recipe ideas for the future. Feel free to join us and bring your low carb friends. We are not just sleevers. Some have not had any type of weightloss surgery but have chosen the low carb life. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Winn...LowCarbDinner/ we are fairly new but growing.

I was not required to blend poached or scrambled eggs or refried beans on puree. They were okay to eat as is. Same with cottage cheese, yogurt, and peanut butter. Everything else had to be pureed (remember I wasn't allowed stuff like Cream of Wheat or applesauce - just lots of meat). And yep, get yourself some cooked salmon or tuna or whatever and puree it with some liquid. Just add the liquid a little at time until you get the right consistency.
I even went to the local bbq chain (Buddy's) and got some pork bbq and ran that through the food processor. Delicious!
