surgery still pending

Hey everyone!
I'm Ellie.
Im thinking of having the gastric sleeve.
This is a decision I've made on my own so still unsure if the surgery will go ahead! I have an appointment with my doctor in 4 days to ask for a referral and pending that referral, I have booked an appointment to see the surgeon 1 week later.
I joined this site to broaden my knowledge on the proceedure and to find out the pros and cons from those who have gone through the proceedure already.

any tips you want to share would be greatly appreciated :-)

Thank you! How have you gone with your surgeties and coping with the changes? Also if you dont mind, my I ask why you chose the sleeve (over the band or rny)?

Thank you ThisIs4Me! Ive done alot of research outside of this forum and pretty certain I want the sleeve. I was just curious about other peoples reasons for choosing the sleeve. But I will have to read more on the forum and peoples experiences are all so different and there are some many pros and cons!

Welcome! At first I liked that the lap band seemed less drastic. But as I researched I found lots of issues and the idea of a port wasn't all that appealing. I needed a permanent solution so I crossed off lap band. Then I liked the idea of keeping all my guts intact and trying to avoid some of the issues with malabsorption. That left the sleeve. Also the reduction of the hunger stimulating hormone also sounded beneficial. I have been very happy with my sleeve so far! No regrets here!
