Default Going home from hosp today....phew

Had surgery Monday and heading home today to start the process. Didn't have any pains or use pain meds at all. Don't like how they make me feel. Felt nausea from anesthesia but didn't get sick, thank god. My only fear is dehydration. I know sip sip sip....but are there things that don't sit well or is it just me? Thanks

Sadly you're the only who will know the answer to what will sit well with you. Don't be afraid to try different liquids.

You've got this! You can do it!

Its not just you. There will be things that dont sit well and for some there are things you've enjoyed you're whole life that you won't care for now.

The best advice I got was rest, heal, & be patient. Do the best you can, congrats and good health to you.

You will soon learn what you can tolerate and what you can't. Congrats on being sleeved.

Dehydration is nasty. I have continually struggled with it for seven weeks. But I think I am an unusual case. I doubt most people get it as bad as I have. This despite drinking 90 plus ounces of powerade zero a day. So, while you are not likely to end up in my boat, I would still try like heck to be diligent about the sipping.

It isn't just you. Your body "may not tolerate" a great many things right at first. I'm told by some of the awesome people here that some of those things will change over time and just because you can't tolerate them now doesn't mean you won't be able to by this time next year. For instance, I truly hope that Chocolate is one of those things that get more tolerable over time for me, or else my tongue and my stomach will be at war for the rest of my life. I can't even stomach the chocolate flavored protein drinks currently.
