Can I bring my own or am I stuck in a gown for 2 days? Anyone know?
You can bring you own PJ's but you probably won't be using them. Also you may want to bring some feminine protection items (just in case). I had my period 2 weeks prior to surgery and had an unpleasant surprise the evening of surgery and had to use the hospital supplied items until my hubby could bring me stuff the next morning. It's not uncommon for surgery to cause irregularities with your menstrual cycle.

I brought PJ's but never used them because of the IV like others said. I did use my robe so bring one of those. I also brought a pillow that I used in the hospital and then used again in the car to protect from the seat belt. Another item I'm so glad I brought - an extension cord. That way my phone was right by my head, plugged in, and I felt connected to the world. I also liked having shoes I could slip on (I brought crocs) and I used them to go to the bathroom and to walk the halls. Bring a brush/comb and a toothbrush & deodorant. I also had read advice to bring chapstick, Gas-X strips, and Listerine strips but I never used them. I also brought magazines but never read them - but if I was staying for two days I might have.
I too started my period right after surgery but it was at least after I got home (or maybe the day I got home).
Good luck!

Was in so short a time there was no need. Good luck.
Thanks girls! Looks like all of you are doing great on your weight loss journey so far! Good work! No regrets either! I was worried about starting in the hospital. Funny you all mentioned it.
I posted another question about going to a wedding on the 3rd Saturday after my surgery. Do you think I'll be able to eat anything there?
I was only in the hospital overnight so I was in the gown (and nothing else) for the entire stay. After I was discharged, I changed into some comfy pajama-type clothes for the ride home. I did take a robe to cover up my backside for the walks around the hospital halls though.
Yes, you'll be fine to go to the wedding. I went out of town two weeks out from my surgery and I can eat at a restaurant. I had refried beans, avacado, fish, egg (fried easier than scrambled for me). Now I can eat chicken salad, grilled or roasted chicken, I even tried chips and was successful in small quantities. Tonight I tried a burger and that made me sick (well, almost). So you might not be able to eat MUCH, but you'll be able to snack on stuff. And the best part is you won't be hungry!

Whether you can wear your own pajamas kind of depends on the nurse and whether she/he wants to take the IV off the pump, thread the tubing through the sleeve and put it back on the pump. It's possible to wear your own clothes but it's more convenient for the staff if you wear a gown. You can definitely wear pajama bottoms. There shouldn't be a problem with that.
I was in for three days and project to be in for four (due to pre-existing heart condition and that I live far away from hospital) and I did take my own pajamas and turns out I never used them. I was on a hearth monitor the whole time and that involved five extra wires hooked to a battery pack. The hospital gowns have a built in pocket for them so I just used that. I had so many wires and and the IV and stuff it just didnt' seem worth it to try to change them.

I brought pjs that wear the tie on your shoulder kind, warm stretchy pants, slippers, socks, pillow, and my favorite blanket.
I stayed in the gown they gave me because they had to check my incisions plus it was just easier. I had my own room so I really didn't care.
While walking I wore some loose shorts so no one saw my butt LOL
If you do want PJ's maybe just the bottoms shorts type and wear the gownd they give you as a top. they may put you on leg press on the first day... Its that thing that presses on your legs so you don't get blood clots. And Like I said they are always checking your incisions and IV's plus putting stuff into your IV's so you really don't want to mess with that. I was out in two days (went in the 19th AM came out the 20th PM) so no biggie.
I did wear a loose dress home and I'm glad I did. Plus one incision was right where my bra line was so I had to wear a sports bra the first week.
Good Luck!
I brought comfy sleep pants with me and wore them from the time I got up to pee the 1st time until I left. It didn't interfere with anything.
I brought a big flowy sundress type to wear home. Nothing pressing on my stomach. Never used nor needed the pillow that others talk about.
