Welcome Amelia,
All your feelings are absolutely normal. I am having surgery in 13 days, so right behind you and I'm nervous as well. I go from feeling excited to feeling nervous from one day to the next. I know when I'm at the hospital my nerves will be going crazy BUT I know this is the right decision for me. This is a great community of amazing, supportive individuals. I joined this site back in May and the knowledge I've gained is immense!
I wish you the best of luck on your journey. Don't worry you'll do great!
I do not have my surgery scheduled yet however, this will also be my first surgery... so, I completely understand your fears and the emotional roller coaster you are in.... it is not easy to bite the bullet and keep walking in the direction we are in but I guess we got look at the bigger picture of the many blessings it may bring in our life such as, better health and like others mention a new chance at life... hoping you stay strong and have faith that all will be ok .....
Your feelings are normal. The pre-diet and first couple weeks recooperaing are the toughest, but then it gets a little easier. It's all worth it. You'll have more energy and feel so much better. One of the best decisions I have ever made.
The eating smaller portions, exercising more, and drinking so much water eventually becomes second nature.
I have hardly had any post op pain after the first 3 or 4 days. Very easy so far. The worst part is the taste of the protein drinks, I found out about my surgery date while on vacation and didn't have time to properly prepare. I'm so glad I made this choice and my surgeon and his entire program is wonderful!
