Default Im 5 weeks post op and need to have 90 grams of protein a day...PROTEIN SHAKES make me

feel headache-y and somewhat nauseous. I make them with water not milk (lactaid or almond) I feel like it shocks my body or something.
How am I supposed to eat 90 grams a day? I think I am not eating enough....

    TODAYS MENU:

Instant coffee: Tasters choice French roast with 4 TBSP of half and half and splenda

Bne hard boiled egg and 1/2 of another hard boiled egg

L: 1/2 cup tuna salad made with relish, mayo, lemon pepper

D : morning star veggie patty with 3 tablespoons of mashed refried beans

    S: two SF popsicles

Sometimes at night I will try to force myself to have a protein shake 33 grams of proteinIMG_20130730_212729_756 (1).jpg This is the protein shake...

I would love some advice from the season/experience sleevers...Thanks!

My weight is coming off slowly and my dr. never said I should have a certain calorie diet either. I have noticed some people say they have 900-1000 calories a day.... Maybe I should eat more...

My surgeon says we're supposed to wean ourselves off of protein shakes but I don't get it. I'm 9 weeks out, there's no way i'm going to get the protein i need from food alone so I start the day with a shake (AMP Wheybolic ) and maybe one or two later (syntrax).

I mix 8 oz coffee, 8 oz milk. one scoop of creamy vanilla isopure protein powder and 2 TBS generic benefiber. It works great for me. It keeps me full till lunch. You could substitute water for the milk and use the powder you already have. I like using milk since it add more protein, but I had to use lactose free milk at first. I think I had temporary lactose intolerance for 6 weeks or so, but I do okay with milk now. Good luck figuring out what will work best for you! I know you will!

I make a helathy fruit shake at night (greek yogurt, milk, fruit and PROTEIN POWDER) that adds up at the end of the night. If I am having anything mushy throughout the day, I can add some unflavored powder to that.

I am over 8 months out, I have NEVER gotten over 50 grams in a day of protein. I generally eat mine now. In the beginning with adding powder to stuff I ate, I managed 30-40grams, now I get get about 45 a day. But I do add protein into my yogurt when i eat it, I add it to jello salads i make for the family...they have no idea its in there, I add it to the night time goodie shake. I did find though that i needed to eat about every two hours Breakfast, at 10 a snack, lunch at 3 a snack, dinner, 8 a snack. I still eat like this.

    good luck!

I went to walmart and bought the protein liquid protein shots. They contain 45g of protein. I down one first thing in the morning. Not tasty but it gets the job done. I am off of the protein shakes because I cannot tolerate the taste or the smell.

Pro complex has 60 grams per shake. Its easier to gag down 1 shake versus 2 or 3.. Lol

i couldn't tolerate the protein shakes so I drank Isopure. You can get them from GNC and I urge you to try them.

    Good luck!
