Someone said to me that post op I won't be able to dye my hair. I don't remember being told that. How true is it and if it is true how long do I have to wait?

Never heard that before. I just had my hair done last week, color and highlights with no issues. I am just over 2 months out.

I got may hair done (colored and Brazilian blowout) when I was about 2 weeks post op. No problems here.

I did my hair the weekend before my surgery. No problems!

Oh lordy is right. I haven;t heard that. I may have to make an appointment next week before I have my surgery..

There is a point after the surgery (usually 3rd or 4th month) when many people experience hair loss - this is due to the shock/malnutrition after the surgery and it actually falls out from the head (versus breaking off). I think if you did something drastic to your hair before or during this time (i.e. bleached your head of dark brown hair to platinum) it could add to the hair loss but in general it is fine to continue dying your hair.

I did mine prior to surgery and then I waited 6 months before I did it again, just to be sure.
