Drinking: Gatoraide G2 and Powerade Zero which are much easier for me to handle versus water. Will probably try some crystal light this evening.
Eating: EGG DROP SOUP, stupid protein shakes, sugar free pudding (mainly vanilla), sugar-free strawberry jello, Tropical flavored surgar free Popsicles (the pineapple is my favorite), and carbmaster yogurt found at Kroger ... if you stick to the stronger flavors like Cinnamon Roll, Carrot Cake, Spice Cake and Blackforest cake they are actually quite good ... the lighter fruit flavors like strawberry are disgusting. That was odd for me as I tend to gravitate more towards fruity yogurt.
I really hope that on Thursday, Dr Whipple releases me to soft/pureed foods. I want to suck on a cheese stick so bad and good gravy did my husband's egg breakfast smell heavenly this morning!!! After having no issues eating anything, I am struggling with the temptation to suck/gum to death soft foods becuase I am SICK of the darn protein shakes.

You're such an awesome lady & a wonderful help.

My new savory flavored thing right now is Campbell's Golden Mushroom soup! Oh it is so good. I'm wondering if I will ever like sweets again after having to endure alllll things sweet day in day out when this is over?! I love water the same as always so I haven't had to flavor it or buy flavored drinks, so can't help there. Good luck.

I have my 2week appt tomorrow and I am praying for the next level of food. I have barely eaten in 2weeks and cannot take any of my supplements due to complete nausea. The protein shakes make me nauseated and today even pudding was hard to get down. Lol I can't even look at yogurt anymore. I understand the cravings too, my daughter had a cheeseburger in the car the other day and I just wanted to lick it to get the taste. I never imagined it being this hard, wow was I wrong. Good luck to you ...

I have tried cream of broccoli soup . Very good plus use skim milk for the protein. Green tea mixed with crystal light lemonade is a nice change from water for something to drink. Chocolate protein shakes that I put in the freezer for half hour to taste like a milkshake. Hope these suggestions help!!

I assume the picture is of you. You are such a beautiful young lady. Just think how good you are going to look if you just hang in there.
I have not had the surgery so I don't know how hard it is, but don't wait until you get my age and have health problems pain all the time from the weight on your joints. I will be watching to see how you do and hang in there. It is going to be worth it if you just hang in there.

I did clear liquids for a full week, full liquids for two weeks, soft/pureed foods for a week, THEN "real" food. Cream of mushroom and chicken soups with some unflavored protein powder were better than shakes, and I was thrilled to get to add them. I tried the golden mushroom soup too; it was GOOD, but pretty high in carbs, as is the cheddar cheese soup. I probably shouldn't have done this, but I resorted to putting a smidge of buffalo sauce and Tiger sauce in my cream of chicken soup for variety (not at the same time, though!). My hubs ate cream of celery occasionally, but since I hate celery... I ran some Healthy Request chicken tortilla soup through the blender until it was smooth (ugly, but smooth), and it was like heaven. Very salty heaven, compared to all the sweet shakes!

I still drink a protein shake for breakfast now, but I trick mine up for variety. We drink Premier protein shakes, in choc and vanilla, and they're "meh." I use decaf instant coffee crystals in either one (dissolve in a smidge of warm water first) for a change of pace. Sugar free Tang powder is really good in the vanilla shakes; it reminds me of those yummy Creamsicles from the old days! Half-frozen protein shakes are a nice change of pace too; open it, put it in the freezer for half an hour to an hour, and then squeeze or shake it up to make the ice crystals smaller. You may have to cut the top off to get it out though!

I remember how hard those first weeks are. You can get through it!

I made a huge pot of chicken soup with a whole chicken, tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, carrots, celery, rosemary, oregano, salt and pepper. Then strained all the juice from that. That chicken stock helped me a lot during the clear liquid phase last week. I also drank a lot of Isopure Zero Carb RTD's mixed 50/50 with water.
