Clarification about my complications

I am eleven months out from my sleeve surgery. After the surgery I continued to bleed from the drain. After four days Dr Q decided with my blood count being so low he had to take me back to surgery and fix the bleed. I was told by him that there was a leak around the stapling. I am now hearing his office is telling people he gave me a free surgery because I had an existing clot that was bleeding? I wa sgiven a free surgery so he could go in and fix a complication. I think he is a very competent surgeon, however there are some shady practices going on. I have asked for my surgery report for months as elen months out I have still only lost 30#. I eat a low cal diet and work out 3-5 times a week. I have tried to contact Henry and Dr Q multiple times to talk to them about this and have had no response. I need to see another surgeon here and need my records. I know other people are having this same problem with records. Make sure your request is made and agreed upon prior to surgery. Good luck

Dr. Alvarez gives you a surgical report of exactly what was done before you leave. My PCP will have everything she needs when I see her for my 6 week post op check. I'm sorry you're going through all this. I hope they're able to resolve everything and that you'll be better very soon.

LMFAO @ Free Surgery.... Um hello if he did it right the first time there wouldn't have been a second "Free Surgery" I mean they are acting like he bought you a car or something... I understand there could be compacations but don't sugar coat it. He messed up and went in to correct his mistake plain and simple. Your new Dr. might be able to get your records faxed over. If not then the new Dr will have to do a full work up on you. All honesty I think I would want a full work up anyways from a new Dr. I would be very upset if I waited almost a year for my records that's just BS!

I also don't like that it seems like they are trying to hide something either. You should know everything that went on and what happend during both surgeries.

You know I think I'm more bitchy on a diet..... I've looked at my posts from when I first came to this site and I was all nice. Now... different story.

I'm sorry if I come off strong but I'm really on your side and I hope everything turns out for the best.

Does the hospital have a copy of your medical record? When I had my csections I got the surgery report from the hospital nOt my md's practice. Sounds like it might b illegal to withhold your medical record.

I'm glad you are posting this. I liked Dr Q, but no Dr is perfect. I knew the entire team surrounding this Dr were snakey and it almost made me change my surgeon. I have had zero complications, and after all the recent drama, I requested my records again and got them by email overnight. Have you got your yet??

Ive lost 58 in 9 months and my sleeve size seems really big. Compared to u tube video and tons of research im eating twice what other eat at 9 months. I havent lost any in three months and not sure if ill reach goal but i am happy with my loss and no complications... I cant get dvd or records either. They are very unorganized or were 9 months ago i think.. Henry ran or still runs the show. Not Dr Q. I want to read success stories from Dr Qs patients but I havent found any yet.. Discouraging but still hopeful..

I feel like I can entirely eat to much too. I have to work extra hard to even see a pound, and I can eat alot in one sitting, and 2 hours later still starving. I heard its a 34 size Bougie, I hear thats common. I didn't want to go to Dr Almanza, but seems like his patients lose more and faster? I did love Dr Q, and agree there is definately something wierd, and I don't know what cause I am no longer a part of that team. I would recomend people to him cause I had a ok time in TJ, but seems that since I jumped out and there are many who have much to say now. Kiki, you have always been patient and so sweet, I hope you get answeres, you deserve to get to your happy size just like we have all dreamed about!

I was told by Dr Q himself it was a 34 fr bougie. I am at the other end of the spectrum than you guys. I am not able to eat any food, it won't go down, I vomit everything I eat. Therefore, I don't eat, I drink protein shakes and water. I have lost 53 pounds in 10 weeks and I'm ok with that. I'm also ok with not being able to eat, I don't consider it a complication. I want to be thin and I am glad he made my stomach extremely small. I know this sounds dumb, that I don't care if I can eat or not, but I'm in it to LOSE it. I am also never hungry.

Different story with me. After 2nd month it was a little more and 3rd a little more. I asked him to make mine smaller, but they said it was standard. Kiki, did yopu get all of your $ refunded back from the entire ordeal? Or is he just saying you got the second surgery free to feel like a hero?

wow im glad i didnt go to him was he in mexico too my surgery didint produce near the results i was after but no complications with almanza
