This is my first time posted on a blog/website. I have my date! I'm alittle nevous. I'm having surgery during my vacation. I have not told anyone at work yet. Can I get some feedback on the recovery time. Will 4 days off be enoughfor me?

it depends on what you do. if you sit behind a desk all day 4 days MAY be enough. Most take 2 weeks off. I went back to work yesterday and left early cuz i was dizzy cuz i am on my feet.
This is my burning question as well! I work in an office and spend the majority of my time at a desk unless i'm getting up to go photocopy or fax something or go to the bathroom. I just started in a new department with my organization and think that if i need longer than 4 days off i will have to postpone my sleeve to later on this year. I go for my last NUT appointment in 2 weeks so I'm going to be sure to get their feedback on how much time i should allow myself to heal
I could have gone back after 1 week. The nurse at my surgeon's office said they typically recommend 2 weeks off unless the job is strenuous. It all depends on your recovery, if there are complications and how much energy you have. I did not take any pain meds after the 3rd day, but my Dr did not clear me to drive till day 7. Good luck working out your schedule!
I have a desk job and I took 4 weeks off. After the first week I felt great. As far as pain medication, once I got home I only took 1 pill, 1 time. Everyone is different. I apprecaited the 4 weeks so I could get used to my new stomach and figure out my eating, hydrating, and taking vitamins. Since it's a new way of life, these things need to be learned.
If you can take more time, I would suggest a minimum of 2 weeks.
Best Wishes.
I plan on saying I will be off for 2 weeks, but will make the call at my 10 day apt. if I think I need longer.
