Can anyone tell me if they have had surgery in this facility and can anyone tell me if they have used Dr. Ortiz?
Thank you very much! I'm new here so I hope I didn't violate any rules or post this in a place I shouldn't have
I went there also and had an excellent experience!

I think just his nurse Samantha (who I really liked and spoke great English and just had the surgery as well). I am not sure he had another assistant or not cuz I was too out of it to even care. Once u get the seditive you don't really remember anything until u wake up in ur hospital room. I did stay at Marriott and I am a PICKY person and I will say that hotel was every bit as nice as where I would stay in Seattle or Vegas or NYC or wherever in the states. It's a great hotel but not many people speak English there. Hope that helps
This is who my doctor will be and where I'll be staying too. Thank you everyone for the replies, this thread helped me calm down.
Hello! I'm back from my sleeve surgery from Dr. Ortiz in Tijuana, MX. I didn't have any complications and everything I learned to expect on these forums was true! Mi Doctor is a great hospital with a terrific staff. Nurse Sam was so funny! She took such good care of me because I had more pain than the other patients (I'm a big baby). You will love the MX side patient coordinators, Abraham and Eduardo. Abraham will be your driver who will spoil you rotten. He's the sweetest thing! The Marriott hotel was awesome. They have the best chicken broth I've ever had. The popsicles they give you for free were not very good. I suggest by passing that and just buy your own from the gift shop at the hotel. Get banana! You'll love it. Now for the serious part, that drain might freak you out if your like me and can't take the sight of blood. LOL, that was my arch enemy. I drained more than the other patients, so they told me. And I needed extra guaze and tape. Take a whole pack of that with you, plus medical tape. And body soap with a shower puff for the Mi Doctor. Those are the only two things I actually needed and didn't have. Hard sole slippers would've been good too. If you have any questions, you can send me a message directly. Good luck and take care!
