Are you kidding me? I just saw a commercial with a man who had lap band surgery...who claimed it was better than the sleeve. There is NO WAY I EVER wanted a lap band or bypass...and I love my sleeve! Why are they doing this???

Probably because more people are choosing the sleeve and these people probably specialize in lap band surgery, are losing money, so they are going to claim its better.

My suspicion is that between the sleeve, RNY, and band; the band it is most profitable. From what I heard it is the shortest surgery time plus many offices charge $50-$150 a pop for each adjustment and these suckers (referring to the band not the patients) need constant adjusting.

I'm so so so glad I went with the sleeve instead of the band. At first I was planning on the band because I thought if something goes wrong they could take it out but after a year of doing research on the band I knew it was not for me. Everyone on the message boards seemed to have lots of problems with it! I love my sleeve!
