Last week, at 31 weeks post op, I entered Onederland and that feels so great. It has been several years and it seems surreal. I'm so glad I did this surgery, because I feel like I finally have control over my diet. I'm looking forward to seeing what my progress is at the 1 year mark.
I recently had a non-scale victory (NSV). A couple of weeks ago, I met with a representative at BlueGreen, a timeshare company. I mentioned to her that I liked her earrings. She said thanks and told me she got them an Lane Bryant. As I'm sure many of you are aware, Lane Bryant is basically a department store with plus size clothing. So, I replied, "Oh I love Lane Bryant." Well, she immediately looked confused and said, "No, I think you must be thinking of a different store." She then told me that Lane Bryant only had plus size clothing and she said there is no way I would fit into their clothes due to my smaller physique. Can I tell you that just made my day that she assumed I had never had weight issues! I smiled and told her about my gastric sleeve surgery. It turned into a wonderful conversation, because, she had underwent lapband surgery over a year ago and was considering revision surgery with the sleeve. She had only lost 40 lbs in over a year and was not happy with her lapband and how it made her feel. She then smiled and said, "I believe there is a reason why people meet." It was great.I gave her my contact information and told her to feel free to reach out anytime she had questions about my sleeve experience.
I hope you all have a great week.
