High hopes!

I've got a little over a month until I leave to Colombia to have my surgery!
I was getting a little nervous because it will be my very first surgery, but I'm trying to stay positive and optimistic.
To keep my attitude up, I wrote a little list of everything I have to look forward to after the surgery.
Here goes:
1. Being able to wear shorts! I haven't been comfortable in shorts since I was ten!
2. Actually enjoying the summer. Instead of dreading the heat under my layers of clothing, I can enjoy the weather in regular clothes!
3. Being able to eat healthy without starving to death on crazy diets!
4. Exercising without chaffing. I actually love to be active but my body has been holding me back for too long.
5. Confidence! I want to be a normal 21 year old girl that loves to go out with friends and has fun trying on clothes. No more beating myself up for my size.
6. Having a healthy body. High cholesterol and blood pressure will soon be a thing of the past for me!

It may sound dumb, but this is my way of keeping any negative thoughts away. I know the sleeve is not an easy fix (my best friend had it done last year with the same doctor I'm going to). I also know that it opens up so many opportunities that we wouldn't normally have. I'm sure the road will be a little rocky, but hey, I think it's worth it!

I love your list! Best of luck to you... My parents are from Colombia. Where in Colombia are you having the surgery? My father was a doctor and many of my family members are doctors over there. I actually decided to get my surgery after my cousin (who also happens to be a doctor) had her surgery in Colombia. She had it done almost 5 years ago. She's doing great and look fantastic! Definitely keep me posted on your experience. I think you will love experience in Colombia...the people are very warm and welcoming.

I'm so excited to go to Colombia! My best friend is from Bogota and always wanted to take me. She had er surgery about a year ago with Dr. Cure as well as a couple of her cousins. They are all doing really well! The count-down until July 10th is a double whammy for me because I'll finally get to see Colombia after hearing so much about it AND I get to have life changing surgery.

Best of luck with your surgery. You'll love Bogota. Dress for FALL weather. Let me know how it goes. I'm going to have my surgery in Medellin in August.
