    Default Help!!!!

I just started my 6 months doctor supervised diet that my insurance company required. THIS IS NOT WORKING! She told me to stop with the sugars, no problem. I drink only water and protien drinks now, no soda, no sweet tea (my favorite) and no kool aid. But the food part. I bought all kinds of lean cusines, smart ones, ect. but their not enough. I need will power!! Can someone please tell me where I can even begin to look for that. My fam is no help, everybody in my house is always eating. I dont kno what to do!!!

they are not enough....those meals, but they don't have to be ALL you eat. take one and add a cup of steamed carrots and baby onions ...or a salad with lots of veggies and a little oil and vinegar dressing. fill yourself up, that is key. and buy some quinoa grain and cook some up....add it to soups and side dishes for your little tv dinners....it has tons of protein and will help fill you.

if you JUST give up all sugar and cut the fats, you will lose. gradually ...but you will lose.

My doc had me concentrate on high protein and low carb. It's hard at 1st but it doesn't take long to look at white bread, chips and such as bad.

I'm doing the same as Harley Granny did. I'm on a 1500 cal plan, high protein/low carb. I'm never hungry...in fact, I can't eat enough to get all of the servings that my NUT wants me to get, so I focus mostly on the protein and carbs. Once I got through the carb crash it wasn't bad at all. I don't do the lean cuisines and other 'healthy' frozen meals because they have too many carbs (and soduim, usually) for my daily plan, and they do absolutely nothing to fill me up.

Here is an example of my food intake:

    Breakfast:
    1 med-large banana
1 carbmaster yogurt (kroger sells these)
    water/crystal light

    Lunch:
    1 low carb wrap
4 oz lean/low sodium deli meat
    1/4c chredded cheese
    1 carbmaster yogurt
    1c fresh fruit
1 c raw veggies w/2 tsp yogurt ranch dip
    water/crystal light
(I usually can't finish all of this)

    Dinner:
    6oz meat
    1c veggie
    1 starch serving

    Snack
    cocoa dusted almonds (yum!)

try the Adkins Advantage meals. They are concentrated on High Protien and low carbs. You can also add a protien drink to the mix. The more protien you get in the less hungry you will be and it will also get your head right for after you have your surgery.

I'm going to be totally honest with you. I had trouble also. I only lost 2 pounds on my pre op diet. I'll tell you the same thing my doctor says, If patiens could lose it on their own we wouldn't need the surgery. If you're hungry eat, try to eat healthy but don't starve yourself. Whatever you don't lose pre op you will lose post-op, I did because I wasn't always hungry.

    Best of luck to you!
