Raw vegetables ever again?

I was recently looking at a diet outline of the eating stages that we go through after surgery, i.e. clear liquids, strained, soft food. etc.. Under the label of Rest of Life, It said, "thoroughly cooked vegetables". My surgery is in 3 days, and this may be a deal breaker! I am basically a vegetarian and I love raw veggies. Can anyone tell me if this is true?

I have eaten plenty of raw veggies. I don't know who makes up some of these ridiculous "Diet Plans" for sleeved patients. They have obviously never been sleeved!

Raw vegetables don't bother me at all. Don't worry about it.

not true at all. I only have an issue with lettuce in large amounts like in a salad and I know there are plenty of people who eat salads every day so dont worry about that.

I eat raw veg all the time, only cabbage and the likes gives me terrible winds but all others are good

My doctor advised me to wait 12 weeks before eating raw vegetables. I will be giving them a whirl this coming week. He did warn me that celery might be hard to digest and recommended chopping it up.

I eat raw veggies and salads all the time. I do have a little problem with the baby carrots but other than that I can eat anything!

update had tomatoes and cukes and olives and it was great about 10 weeks out here

I had my surgery about 2 1/2 years ago, I eat raw veggies all the time (radishes are my FAVORITE!), and don't have an issue.

I was told not to eat a small group of veggies for the first 3 months............after that good to go. Just chew well .
