    Default One week to go!!!

I can't believe I finally get to say that!

I keep waiting for something to happen. I've done pretty good on the pre-op. While I've strayed a little bit, I've done it with other high protien low carb foods so I don't think there will be a problem. It's funny how your mindset changes with this process. And that's a good thing!

Still remodeling a couple rooms and we should have that done over the weekend. Our room is torn up so I've been sleeping in my recliner as opposed to my son's bed which is way too hard. I've actually slept pretty good in it!

Can't wait to sit on the loser's bench!

Good luck to you! I'm on week out since surgery and doing amazingly well. No abdominal pain, no swelling, feeling awesome. Best decision ever! Postoperative gas was an issue. For me, ending pain meds as quickly as possible was the key as they made me nauseous which then made me get sick ad it then became a big circle. Get off them as soon as you can....I filled my Rx given by the doc but have since thrown them away never taking anything once discharged....

Hardest part is to remember to drink the liquids (water, tea, etc) in between meals. I'd feel lightheaded and not sure why until I linked the two together. Just small sips all day long and I feel great.

Best of luck to you! You already have this beat just by your mindset.

People are so different. I took my pain meds for 1 week. I was so thankful for my liquid Lortab. Helped me to stay pain free and never caused me nausea. I also had a hernia repair and was told that caused more pain.

I recently purchased a 1200 Sportster as a gift for me to celebrate the new me. I need to take riding lessons tho...

The intellect has little to do with the road to discovery. There comes a leap of consciousness, call it intuition or what you will, and the solution comes to you and you don't know why or how.

I have my endorsement but for the safety of all those around me, I let my husband do the driving.

I own half of one! I do want a trike. My weight is a hinderance right now in my confidence of being in control of the bike. I'm truly hoping that when the weight comes off, I'll feel better about being the driver.

    Enjoy that bike!

Good luck to you! The time will go by so fast, I promise! The next thing you know you'll be sitting in that hospital bed with your hospital gown on anxiously waiting for them to wheel you down.

I'd like to wish much success to everyone, and prayers to Harley Granny and the others that are waiting for your upcoming surgery. i haven't even had my consult so I'm in the very beginning of my journey. May I ask how you've all lost weight. I would love to lose at least 5 lbs before my Dr.consult on June 13th. I've been doing WW online since Jan. 20th so been tracking my weight every Sunday, but I'm really bad at tracking my food. I just can't seem to lose. My weight seems to fruciate all the time between 1 or 2 pounds.
I'm am just at the very beginning of my journey, but I'm totally putting all my trust and faith in God to guide me along each and every step of the way. Blessings All!

After your consult you'll meet with a nutritionist and they will tell you what you need to do before the surgery. If you insurance in involved they will have rules for you also.
After I got the pre-op diet guidelines I started modifying what I ate. I had to change my mind of what I wanted to eat. I practiced the "chewing" that will have to be done after the diet. I started out by replacing one meal with a protein shake. Now I'm on the actual pre-op diet, it wasn't so hard to go to the replacing two meals with shakes.

Start concentrating on high protein/low carb now and trust me it will help.

    Good luck in your journey!

I want to wish you all much success in your journey. To Harley Granny and the rest with upcoming surgerys, prayers that you will have no complications and with none or very little pain. It was very encouraging seeing that caprice063 did so well with her surgery, wouldn't it be great to all be like her.

Thank you so much. I didn't realize I posted twice. That's the joys of working latenite! LOL! I started buying shakes already just to get a taste for them. This weekend I hope to get to Walmart because they seem to have a really good selection. I live only 5 minutes away from our K-mart but they have very little in the way of shakes and bars. Well I'm going to brave the heat since I'm off tonight and go plant some more flowers. That's one thing I am SO looking forward to is to not get so tired or out of breath when working outside. I love to work outside because to me it's just so relaxing and a stress reliever. I hope you all have a great day and that none of you are in the path of any bad weather as my heart goes out to the folks in Oklahoma!
