Default What happens when you reach your goal?.

Something Ive been thinking about is what happens when you reach your goal. Ive still got about 16kg or 40 ish pounds to go but when I get there if I still dont feel hungry and fill easily how do you stop losing weight?. I know this is probably a funny thing to think about but I do wonder. Has anyone found it hard to STOP losing weight?. Just asking

Yep, me. I do feel hungry but get full quickly or just nauseous so I end up losing, slowly but still losing. That dose not happen to everyone, in fact some gain some back. I just monitor my weight and if needed, I'll have chocolate or ice cream,as long as I don't feel sick from it. In a way, it's like being free from the lifelong shackles of dieting by eating what I want now without the fear of getting fat. So don't worry, it's a great problem to have.:-)

That is so funny...."here let me have a brownie sundae - can't loose anymore weight" We start this journey addicted to food...and then we fill up so quick its hard to gain weight...so now we have to look to the fattening side just to maintain....
Good Luck to You..I'm not even there yet..only at the beginning phase..but I can only imagine!

I lost 88 lbs, had hoped for 100, but now have stablized for almost a year, staying within 4 lbs of my loss. I am not doing anything special, but my restriction keeps me from overeating. (This is the first time I have lost weight and stablized...my pattern was losing some weight, then immediately gaining it all back and more. I am more than happy in my current situation!)

For me personally, right around the 14 month mark my restriction started to change and allowed for a much more "normal" diet. I stay within 12-1400 calories a day and try to make healthy choices with the occasional treat thrown in.

I have a 5 lb buffer zone, I've found it fairly easy to stay within that. It is very challenging to try and lose weight now, my body seems to have found its sweet spot and sticks with it. If I misbehave and start letting too many white carbs in I will see the scale start to go up, but scaling back on that will Bri g me back down.

I do remember a time trying to imagine ever eating normally again. I do, only this is the normal that should have been my normal all along :lol.
Hit first goal of 155 at 9.5 months. Setting new goal of 145 which is less then I've ever weighed in my adult life. Woo hoo!
Hit 2nd goal of 145 at 12 months. Room for 1 more goal, I want to be less then half the person I used to be which means 139

I personally have not had the procedure yet, May 10, but my cousin is 19 months out and she was told to increase her caloric intake once she hit goal to maintain her weight. So for the past six months she just adds a small piece of cake or something of the sort to get her calories right. She is part of my inspiration to do this. The other one that has inspired me is my pastor. He has drop 190 lbs in 18 months and has such a normal life now. That is what im looking forward to.

As past chronic dieters, if there is anything we know how to do, it's gain weight. Just increase your calories but be mindful to not let it slip back to old habits.

I'm a year post op today and am about 3-4 lbs from my ultimate goal. I don't know if I'll reach it or not, but my surgeon assured me the body pretty much knows where it's normal or good weight is. You increase your calories slightly, I believe. For me, I'm doing pretty much the same thing even though I can eat a bit more now, I still feel the restriction and never have been able to really eat 4 ounces of solid protein food at a meal. I usually get in about 3 ounces. I don't even give it all a second thought really. I'm with OZ who posted above...I feel released from the shackles of food that have held me bound all of my life.
I think it will come more naturally than you think for you. Wishing you all the very best and keep us posted.
