    Default Condiments & Spices....??

I haven't hit the soft food phase yet...(almost though) and I went shopping and found low sugar ketchup, super low fat mayo, I couldn't find low sugar bbq sauce but oh well I will make my own with a recipe I found on allrecipes.com. <3 that site! anyway..my question is:
WHEN can we start having a little bit of flavor to our foods? Does anyone have an allowed condiment list from their dietician?
    Thank You

My doctor advised me to try adding one thing at a time, including spices. That way if something upsets your stomach you'll know what it is... So my first spice... I added tobacco to pinto beans... No problem! When you can have solid foods, you should be able to spice it up, but as always, check with YOUR doctor because they all have their own plan!

I never heard of using TOBACCO as a seasoning.

I think try one thing at a time, but go for it! I made my own tomato sauce, BBQ sauce, and ketchup just to control the high amounts of sugar in those. I started using condiments early for flavor. I would add some chopped green chilis (come in the can in the Mexican section) to my refried beans to give it flavor. Making your own salsa is a great addition to some guacamole.

I was allowed spices and condiments right after I came home from the hospital. I added one at a time and only a small amount until I made sure that I tolerated it. I also love using strawberry, lemon, butter flavored extracts to add extra flavor.

I use a lot of cayenne, even cook with jalapeno and red chiles, no problems. Everyone is different, of course, but my doctor said no spice was off limits.
