    Default Fitbit

I'm considering buying one but would love to hear some first hand reviews from anyone who has one. What do you like/dislike about it? Is it worth the investment? My gym is having a Fitbit 10,000 step challenge and the winner gets $1000. I'm already in 2nd place in the weight loss challenge, so I figured why not up my game and try to win both!? :-)

My wife and I have the least expensive Fitbits (the model "Zip") which is about $99 for two fitbits. Ours only tracks steps. The more expenive models track sleep quality/duration and stairs climbed. I would say that all of them are great! They're easy to use, setup was a snap (over the internet) and the website is nice. If you use food-tracking apps like MyFitnessPal you can link the accounts and your fitbit steps get registered as exercise calories on MyFitnessPal. It's very convenient.

The downside: You have to remember to wear them! You also have to remember to not run them through the wash with your clothing.

I think they're pretty great, especially when done with a friend/spouse. We compete my wife and I. She usually wins.

I have the fitbit zip also. It is tiny and easy to use and I like the web site. My only problem is it is not water proof and I do most of my exercise in the pool. But I was lucky because I did run it thru the washer and dryer and amazing it still worked. But I will be careful not to do that again. The Zip really isn't that expensive and works a lot better then a standard pedometer.

    Date of surgery weight 340

Cool - I have been considering one of these too, I didn't realize it was only $99 for two of them. A new geek toy, I wonder how long before I figure out some way to root it or hack it

The Fitbit Flex is supposed to launch any day now. They are water resistant bracelets.. Not sure if that means you can swim with it, but I guess it might survive getting a little wet... Rich, my husband said the same thing! He asked if it worked if you lay on the couch and shake it.... Like, you made me lmao! Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity & Sleep Wristband

Although I now have an iPhone I was also able to use it with my Android phone. Also, it syncs with any computer.

I preordered one of these. Can't wait to get it in!! It was $99 for a Fitbit now, or wait a bit and pay $99 for the new waterproof one. No brainer for me!!

I have had a Fitbit for nearly 3 years and LOVE it. It's very motivating, especially if you are a competitive person. I check throughout the day to compare my steps with my friends.
