It comes as no surprise that Mexico should become a good country to visit if you want a cheaper gastric sleeve procedure. The cheaper bill is only part of the package! You have lots of good doctors in Mexico. They are specially trained to do bariatric surgery. Some of them were schooled in the U.S.

These doctors do not just have the education, they get plenty of experience too.

What is more, they are very near the U.S. so travel expenses are not that high.

While I agree with you that gastric sleeve surgery in Mexico are unparalleled for now, there are other countries in Latin America that are also good when it comes to gastric sleeve surgery. Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia comes to mind, with procedures going as low as $7,000. These are relatively lower than in Mexico, yet the quality of doctors and centers are at par with both the U.S. and Mexico.

$7,000 that's all? Does that include recovery time at a medical center or is that separate? How much time would you have to be there both before and after surgery?

I am currently preparing to go to Juarez, Mexico for my Sleeve Surgery hopefully in Oct. or Nov. I am in the process of getting the money together. Anyways, my surgery is going to cost 6995.00 and it is 20 minutes or so from El Paso, Tx. They have a driver that will pick you up from the airport,and drive you to the hospital, and will also take your guest, if you have someone with you, around the area if need be. Of course I would recommend tipping. The 6995.00 includes In hospital recovery, all of your pre op tests which are done the day you get there, as well with the surgery. Recovery is 3-4 days. Update:

I am officially scheduled for Surgery on Oct. 11th. I will arrive before 12:00pm on the 11th and will leave out on the 14th. It is going to cost me right at $8000.00. That's for Surgery, Plane Tickets( I have to buy 2), Passport, Prescriptions, and 100.00 Pocket/Tip money. I had sleeve surgery in Cancun, Mexico with Dr. Fernando Ceron and Dr. Hector Perez. I had the best experience, very low pain rate after the first day of surgery and left the hospital with absolutely no pain medicine except tylenol. I wouldn't change a thing.

I had mine done in Tijuana for $5000 plus flight. I had excellent care. They picked me up at the airport in San Diego and took me back again. I was even able to stay an extra day in the guest house. The doctor and staff were excellent.
