Default pre op diet and to tired to move

I am on day 2 of a 2 week pre op diet whigh is all liquid. And at about 2 in the afternoon I feel like I have to pass out. It is not helping that I had to get up 3 times last night to go to the bathroom. I have sleep apnea so already have trouble sleeping. Any one out there had a simular issue and does it pass?

I'm on day 4 of the liquid diet. I have sleep apnea as well. Last night I had a hard time sleeping. I usually take my mask off about 3-5 hours after I fall asleep. Just can't take it or have to use the bathroom. I haven't had any "passing out" symptoms. I hope I don't either.

Drink more protein...it truly helps with the hunger pains and lighthededness. Plus stay on a schedule so your do not let yourself feel hungry or get dehydrated. You can do it...most people hit a small wall on day two or three, because you are detoxicating your body, after that it is a breeze!! Congratulations on your choice to change your lifestyle!!

I had the same problems, I think most people experience fatigue during the first few days of the liquid diet. It does pass. By day 3 or 4 you should be feeling better.

Went to the doctor and found out I am not getting enough salt of all things, so now I get to have 1 pickle a day. It has made a world of difference. Thanks for all your thoughts and kindnesses. Being on a scheduled helped a great deal. and adding a banana to the shake helped not only me but my taste buds too.

My liquids are for 10 days and I'm on day 4. My doctor said I can have all campbell's brands as long as they are not the Chunky Brands. I can have chicken and stars, chicken noodle-o's, etc. The soups are killing me!!! The protein shakes I love. I have a protein shake for breakfast and dinner and then have soup and jello or sugar free pudding in between. I also bought sugar free popsicles and sugar free fudgsicles. As for my protein shakes, I put a scoop of the protein to a cup of Almond Milk and then add a banana and berries. It's very good.

Another idea a friend gave me was to sip on bouillion all day. I bought some veggie, chicken and beef bouillion today and that seems to keep my stomach feeling full. They are just so high in sodium though!!! I also drink Propel's and Crystal Light like crazy. I also am up several times a night to pee, so that's a pain in the butt!

If I were you, I would (if you're not already) start taking the vitamins and supplements you'll need after surgery. B12 will give you strength/energy. Also the multi vites are good. You need more protein. Soups you can add flavorless protein powder to should do the trick. Best wishes!

The pre-op diet sounds like the hardest part of the process. You are doing very well - just hang in there.
