    Default Does it get easier??

Hey everyone I am a 1 week and 2 days out and I lost about 11lbs thus far and feel great but it is hard for me to get that 64oz daily.

I also had a sliver of a scrambled egg today and have felt like crap ever since..its been 3 hours and I have a heavy feeling in my chest..is this normal?? I mean the amount I took was the size of a fingernail & I feel this terrible? What is going to happen whne I eventually try to eat more food??

I did the surgery to lose weight & eat less but I don't want to not eat anything..just curious, does it get easier as time goes on...please let me know.

    Thanks

It DOES get easier ... at 1 week out, I was not able to eat egg and it could just be your body's way of telling you "HEY! We aren't ready for that yet!" Try sticking to some full liquids, like protein shakes, pudding and cheeses and see if that feeling goes away ... Also, the egg may not have been loose enough ... you REALLY have to make it extra runny and soupy ... like the consistency of pudding ... I can't stress this enough.

But I promise ... it DOES get easier and you WILL be able to eat again ...

    Cheers!

It took me 2 weeks to move onto something like scrambled egg, so I would agree take yourself back a step and stick to full liquids. Your stomach will definitely still be repairing and egg is probably just too much too soon. But it does get easier I promise, i'm 11 weeks out now and I can eat anything - small bits of everything. It takes quite a while to learn all your bodies new signals - what you can eat, what you cant, how much you can eat, when you should eat. Your re-learning everything, but when you do you can sit back and see the pounds slipping off and you re-gain a whole new lease of life.
Good luck and take it slow xx

thank you so much for that info. it is hard to tell people how you feel if they haven't been there themselves When I hear things like it does take time & it does get better than I am happy and know I made the right choice. I really have to learn patience on this journey as well but it has been so drastic for me not to eat solid food for almost 2 weeks I feel like I'm losing it..lol...I will keep in mind every day gets better. Congrats on your success and Thanks for the info

Ive been having the same problems...I want to eat because I feel hungry, but I know if I eat something it will make me sick. I've found also that High Protein SlimFast is also a good choice..I used the unflavored protein in it for a boost. BUT...sip slowly, it may come back up. The shakes can also be made into smoothies with a scoop of protein powder, ice and added fruit. I find its a good shortcut, lol. Good Luck!!

For my first two weeks home I was on a full liquid diet... like broth, creme soups, jello, applesauce - didn't get to start scrambled eggs etc until after my 2 week appointment. And it does get better... you need to let your body heal - inside & out. Congrats on your surgery!
