Charity, I'm so glad you made it out of there without complications!! That is crazy to be doing surgery at that time after a full day. I had Almanza for VSG and it was fine, but will be looking elsewhere for the tummy tuck and breast reduction!

Thats why they are ending plastic surgeries at JH because they feel it is a hassel on there staff, so i was toldthat they just want to focus on weightloss surgeries
, but i called dr yanez at the hospital he works at and he asked me to send in pics of me. I just think it was so wrong for them to treat u that way but dr yanez should have made sure u were taking care of because u were his paitent.
Quite frankly, I'm relieved they are dropping plastics. They are VERY GOOD at specializing in weight-loss surgeries and I think branching out to plastics was an over-reach on their part. Plastics are much more intensive procedures as far as surgery length and recovery, for the most part.
I have ZERO regrets going with Dr. Almanza and his team for my VSG, and I would have made the same decision even in hindsight. However, I would have hesitated getting any plastics done there.
I'm sorry you had the experience you did. Hopefully, you will heal quickly and as painlessly as possible. Best wishes to you for a speedy recovery.
I am so sorry you had to go through that. But if I was nervous before, now I'm really freaked out! lol I am scheduled for a January 21 sleeve surgery at Jerusalem. So, the reason I signed up with them after 2 years of research, is because I have no insurance. Are there any other reputable Dr.s that do less expensive surgeries?? Btw, best of luck to you!
Dr Almanza is great at what HE does...it is the aftercare that lacks. You will not get any individualized or personal attention. You will never see him again after he performs your surgery. If issues arise after you get home...you are on your own. Emailing them with questions, concerns or any adverse outcomes will be futile. But, if you are prepared for that (as in having a doctor at home to look after you if infection or otherwise occurs) and you are ok with basically "being on your own" once you are there, are pretty much the "go with the flow" type of person, it will be ok.
And, yes, there are other docs in TJ that are just as competant and offer the same price.
P.S. I, also, have no regrets going to Dr. Almanza for my sleeve. Its just that after reading so many posts the last few months from many folks, it seems things have changed there since I went. Although, there was a gal who went there about the same time as I did whose friend who went also for a sleeve made a complaint of having to wait until so late to get her sleeve and Dr. Benecourt freaked on her in front of everyone and told her to leave if she wasn't happy with the way things were being run. Can you imagine an Administrator doing that or what he did to CHARITY here in the US? Geeeeez! Crazy.
my aftercare was okay with almanza i also had my eyelids done at the same time...the aftercare lacked bably there...dr. lara never left instructions at all when i emailed loiuse (the coordinator at the time) she did some go between for me. But i hear she left so i don't know anymore.
I have been very fortunate that my insurance covered the surgery in the USA, so I am not telling anyone that they should not go out of the country. I can't afford to have PS is the states, and boy do I need it already. The only thing I can share is that no matter if I was having surgery in Connecticut or Timbuktu I always try and have surgery first thing in the morning when the doctor is nice and fresh!!! Being at the end of the list makes me nervous, after all surgeons are humans and most burn-out as the day wears on.
Thank you for sharing your story, so sorry to hear of this.
