my weight loss has stalled at day 7!!!

Ok this is really starting to bother me. I lost 3 kg from day 4-7 post op. I'm now day 14 & have lost nothing! A weight stall shouldn't happen this soon should it? I'm getting really worries now. I'm just starting puree so have only been on fluids & I don't understand why I'm not looking (

I haven't had my surgery yet, but trust me when I say it's completely normal. I do a lot of reading on this site and have really learned a lot Don't worry - give the stall up to a few weeks or so before you start freaking out.

Normal normal normal - a stall at any time soon post-op is normal. If you are eating much reduced calories it is impossible that you won't lose weight in the bigger picture, but just accept that the journey downward will not happen at the same rate every day and week.

Hi Pink. I am 41 days post op and I stalled on my 2nd week and didnt lose a thing on the scales for 4 weeks. But man oh man I lost the inches. I have learnt to forget the scales and measure yourself once a week. Your inches will fall off.. I am down 33 pounds or 15 kilo in 41 days. I thought it was slow but I now know its best this way. Ask yourself, when is the last time you lost 3 kilo in 4 - 7 days? Thats heaps Thats 6.6 pounds. You hit stalls and yes they are frustrating, but inches will come off. I have had to buy bras twice in 3 weeks as I lost so much. Yup the inches are falling off. Have faith, and keep doing your diet, the scales will move

Your body thinks its starving so it holding back. Once its used to it, your body will let fly and off you go again. It happens alot.

Uggghhh I am a scale watcher too!! I am eating under 500 calories a day and have stayed the same, but when I look at myself in the mirro I think I see a difference. I was real upset last night over the scale not moving and just feels so confusing because my calorie count is pretty low. But, the body thinks its starving sounds real logical to me!! Tday my family was like really?? What the heck is that!! I waslike, hey, I can come back 4 more!! Hahahahahaa. Many in my family r not thrilled at me getting surgery, but then again, I am the only heavy one out of 5 kids. They r all twigs.
So...I'm gona stick 2 what I'm eating, gonna try 2 add a protein shake. *I tried b4 and made me nausous* and I'm gonna try to only weight 1 day a week.
I write down everything I put into my mouth, so I can show doc when I see him, so if he is shocked by weightloss being low, I can show him what's been going in.
I sure hope things pick up for U too <3

Same here! I had my surgery Oct. 24. I started at 233 and since around Nov. 10th I've been up and down between 211 and 214. I feel it is never going to move. I have not lost inches either. So, I'm totally worried.

I'm experienceing the same thing at 11 days post-op. I've been the same weight for the past 6 days or so. But... I can feel the weight loss on my body, and I know that things are changing within my body, so I'm trying not to be discouraged.

same thing happen to me. Mine went for like ten days...zero loss, then it started moving again for a week, then stalled again. now its slow and steady. trust me, it will decrease.

Thanks for sharing! I've been frustrated too, not understanding how I can eat so little and not loose weight. I am 3 weeks post op and have been between 215-213 for almost a week. I wish I didn't watch the scale so much. I've been tracking everything and really trying to get my 1000 calories. Doc said I won't loose unless I get at least this many calories. I think I will try the measuring idea. I can tell my clothes are looser, even if the scale isn't moving.

Slow down and breathe! Remember how long it took you to gain the weight, in the grand scheme of things weight loss will take time too! Ask yourself these questions:
1. Am I getting in my required protein?
2. Am I drinking enough fluids?
3. Am I getting some kind of exercise (remember muscle mass weighs more than fat)?
4. Am I getting enough sleep?
5. Am I journaling my foods?

At seven days out, your body and tiny swollen tummy are still healing, you aren't drinking much, and yes your body is still recovering from major surgery. The weight loss will come! Think positive, remember the sleeve is a tool in your toolbox.

I know it is easier said than done but don't worry about the weight. We did this to ourselves to get healthy. So foremost worry about getting the proper nutrition your body needs to improve your health. Fluids, proteins and vitamins. Rest and exercise. Your body will do the rest for you in it own way, fast or slow or starts and stops. Don't worry it will happen.
