When did you have your plastic surgery after sleeve?

I had my sleeve at the beginning of the year. My current BMI is around 24.7 so it is already within the healthy BMI range.

I am not sure I can really lose more weight because the weight just bounce up and down, up and down. Maybe stabilizing.

I do have a belly (apron) that I want to have removed. While we are at it, I want to have the breasts lift and arms lift.

How long did you wait or would you wait before plastic surgery?

A friend of mine lost all her weight within 7 months and had hers not long after that. She has just had it done.

I'm still early days but I would like to have it as soon as i reach my target BMI.

Hi: I had plastic surgery this past August (2012) after being sleeved in Oct. 2011...lost 0ver 100 lbs. overall, 90+ since last Oct. You can see all the details at "pconradpebbles" on youtube. My BMI is at the upper point of the range...152lbs. going in and 144lbs. coming out of surgery...would like to lose maximum 10lbs. more on legs and forearms (if I can be choosy, that is).

Hmm. Well since I'm still young at only 24 yrs old, I might want kids in a year or two. So for me, waiting until that point in my life seems best. I wouldn't want to mess up the thousands I spent

I'd probably wait a few months after having kids if I could afford it

Hi Laffey: yes, that would be best to wait until after kids...I just turned 50 so kids aren't dependent on me as much...need time to recover plus all I had done (lots!) cost $33K in costa rica and would have cost $90K in US or Canada...and if you get breasts or arms done...it is very difficult to do much of anything for a couple of months, such as lift gallon of milk, open jars etc. Doesn't hurt to start saving (I got unexpected inheritance plus cashed in some retirement).

I am done having kids. Yes, I wouldn't do a tummy tuck before having kids. Tummy will get stretch out during pregnancy.

Maybe I need to make some appointments with surgeons. I thought I need to wait at least 6 months after weightloss before plastic surgery because the body may change during the stabilizing phrase. However, my stomach is really disproportion to the rest of my body now. Very wierd. It really bothers me. I may not be able to wait that long to get it done.

H Laffey: yes, they do say to wait and it's probably ideal to wait...I suck at waiting, though...I kindof did it also for 50th birthday treat. I know some folks who are still losing tons of weight but already lost a great deal and the abdomen flap is uncomfortable and getting in the way. I myself would get it reduced to encourage self and then get a final tummy tuck when all done...I talk like I'm made of money. In costa rica, the tummy tuck is around $3700.

I waited until my weight was stable for some time. I mostly stopped losing at about eleven months. I am still overweight but was emotionally really to get it done. I have read that the docs like you to stable for 8 months but every doc is different. I went in thinking I just wanted my flap gone and for my breast to be in the vicinity they were designed to be in. My doc, I went to Mexico, far exceeded my expectations. I have an hourglass figure for the first time in 36 years.

Personally I would wait a minimum of three months of being stable, let your body have a rest.

I waited a year and a half. My body was still changing even though my weight stabalized long before. I'm glad I waited as I changed my mind many times on what I wanted done and I did a ton of research to be sure.

Hey Munchkin. I'm 15 months out and have lost 85 of my 100 lbs I think I need to lose. My doctor says 145 is good, so I'm almost there! I'm going to Tijuana to visit Dr. Niebles on December 8th. I'm having my breasts lifted and implants, a major tummy tuck or belt lipectomy, and a butt lift. My final surgery will be for my bingo flaps and possibly a thigh nip and tuck.

I think if you've lost your weight and have kept it steady for a bit, you're good to go. My surgeon reviewed my pictures and said I'm a perfect candidate and have lost at least 80% of my weight, so that part's good to go too. Hope this helps. All the best.
