Anyone Traveling to Tij. Mexico for Makeover?

Just curious if anyone is heading down to Tijuana, Mexico for the Mommy Makeover before the price increases in January? I am just as nervous about this procedure as I was the sleeve..

Has anyone else had the Mommy Makeover that can give me some advice?

When I went for my Gastric Sleeve a friend of mine also had a full circular tummy tuck and some lypo in her legs and a butt lift......She was in horrible pain the first 4 days, but now says it was all worth it. She looks amazing!!!!!

I thought you were were unhappy w/ the rate of weight loss? Are you going to have the MM and then try to lose the rest of your weight?

I am unhappy with my weightloss - but remember I lost a ton by myself prior to surgery, and I am just about 20-30 left to loose. Tummy Tuck will help

Ah! I often wonder how much my loose skin weighs. I'm getting a consult in Dec or Jan and am going to ask the surgeon what he thinks. It would be nice to know I HOPE I've got at least 10 lbs. I don't have a big apron but loose skin all over my body...hard to compare to like a 5 lb. bag of potatoes. I KNOW I've got at least 5 lbs.

will ins cover any of this in the states? I have heard that they only cover if you can prove you have a rash under the stomach, or infections. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I can't afford to go back to mx right now, but if ins could cover some or part of it, I would do it here in the states.

Yankegal-different insurance has different criteria. The only way you will ever know if yours will cover such surgery is for you to call and ask or talk to your primary care physician.

I would skip talking to your PCP - they don't know the ins and outs of your policy 99% of the time. I'm sure there are some out that that do, but most don't know a lot about it, especially if it's outside of their scope of practice. I would advise you to call your insurance company directly and ask them to go over your coverage options for cosmetic surgery.

I am going Thursday for breast implant replacements by Dr Niebles. He did my Tummy Tuck and Arm lifts in July at Jerusalem
Clinic which are AWESOME but is now at a different facility in Tijuana.

That's true, lee, although I think they're more aware of it at Kaiser. That said, a lot of people don't want to call the insurance company b/c it's intimidating and the first step is often w/ their PCP.

I had TT and breast lift 2 weeks ago at Jerusalem. So far, very happy with the results. Still some swelling in the abdominal area, which takes months to completely go away. Breasts look fantastic!!! I lost 7 pounds on the scale and still have some swelling to go down so maybe 2 or 3 more pounds to go. I had no lipo so that is mostly just skin and fat in the abdominal area.

Dee, I've had 2 consults here in the states and was told I have approx 10-15 lbs of skin!
