Do not mistake good publicity for the best. I have not had surgery with either of these doctor, so I am not knocking them at all. I had surgery with Dr. Quinones and had a wonderful experience with him, but I know for a fact that he has next to no publicity, and the website that he had was not done very well...does any of that speak to his quality as a surgeon, no. I can't believe that I got such a competent, caring, and through surgeon , in another country for the 4k that I paid...I really was amazed by the experience because it was my first time out of the country. I am not saying that all doctors that don't have publicity, or that all doctors that have great publicity are good or bad, I am simply saying that publicity is a business like any other, and it is their to make the client look good...just do your research.

Please don't forget to research Dr. Guillermo Alvarez and Dr. Alberto Aceves. Both of them are extremely reputable. Also want to throw out Dr. Armando Joya. Just for your info. There are a lot of good doctors in Mexico.

I honestly never heard of him, I looked into Dr. Alvarez, Dr. Quinones, and Dr. Almanza when I was looking for a surgeon, I also looked into a few US doctors, but I wasn't going to pay 18k for I surgery I could have done for 4k. The only reason I responded like I did was because I own a large technology and marketing firm here in the US, so one, I was able to look at my doctors site and tell that it looked like a gimic because it was done by poor programmers, not because it actually was a gimic, and two, because I have dealt with a number of doctors, lawyers, other technology firms that wanted marketing from my company that were just jokes in their industries, and where hoping we could put a pretty little bow on their crap of a service and get them more business. I have had the pleasure to personally tell Hillary Clinton's attorney to go F**k himself.

Now one thing you will notice if you look at that link you just sent. Check out the domain name, PRleap.com, that means that they are using PR syndication releases to publicize their bariatric services...its a good move for promoting yourself. If you are interested in him, what I would do is a few searches on various search engines like Google, Yahoo, etc. and see if there is any other information about him, or forum post from people who have used him for surgery. Don't be alarmed if you don't find much, as I said, most people don't know how to properly promote themselves. Just make sure to check around forums, blogs, talk to patient services, see if they can refer you to anyone that had surgery with him. Do lost of research and ask lots of questions. He could be a new doctor to bariatrci surgery, or just one that is lesser known, doesn't mean he is good or bad...just do enough probing until you are comfortably with who you settle on. I found my doctor by absolute fluke, but his price was too good not to inquire on. So I went on the forums, found a group that contained several members who had recently had surgery with him, and talked to them, along with questioning his poor coordinator to death lol.I went with him because of his vast experience, he actually taught a lot of the doctors that perform the procedure down in MX, so that made me feel much better about the process. Don't take just one person's word on it, especially if they are a coordinator for that particular doctor, as I have talked to a number of them that are quick to tell you horrifying and some vastly untrue stories about competing doctors. You tube is another really great source for doctor info, as many patients do weekly or monthly progress videos.

Ha ha, Oh gosh you would ask that. I don't know what his deposit was because I put down a little over half right away. I took the rest of it with me and paid him there in a cashiers check. I had an awesome journey!!! Dr. Quinones is very professional and a great guy!! You will spend two nights in the hospital there with 24 hour care. You know the hospitals there aren't like they are here in the Us? The Hospital that he operates out of is a very small private one. You will have up front personal attention. Dr. Quinones will come and see you every day after your surgery and he will do the dye test on the last day and will take your drain out. The dye test is easy. It involves drinking some dark purple stuff and that's it. I only drank a couple of sips. Your hotel is included in the price and it's a nice hotel!! If you need to know anything else feel free to ask.

I just had surgery in Tijuana Mexico November 8th. I was very pleased. I went thru Medical Tourism Corporation. They were in contact the entire time and everything went exactly like they said it would. I paid $4500. My insurance did not cover so this was my only option. I was leary because I have Lupus, but my rheumatologist really wanted me to have surgery so he could better treat my disease. I have been on steroids for five years and have gained over 100 pounds.
