Hello from H-Town

I am one week out from my surgery (8/8/12) and went back to work today. I was a little nervous about it, but did fine. I'm feeling pretty good, but anxious to get to the "Pureed Foods" step in this adventure. I can't tolerate anything sweet, so it's basically V-8 Juice, chicken broth, water and lemonade. Did anyone else start the pureed foods earlier than 17 days out from surgery and how did you do?

Listen to your body, I was able to start a little early. If you do go very slow and don't force anything.

I was sleeved on the 8th as well. I will not be on puréed foods until at least my first post-op appointment on the 24th. So by that time I will have been on full liquids for 30 days. My surgeon says it will allow my stomach to heal properly. But I am not going to lie...I am soooooo looking forward to moving on to the next stage of "eating".

Post-op I was 1 week on clears, then 1 week on full liquid. then 1 week on purred, then 2 weeks on soft, and then "regular food".Still struggle a bit to get all the recommded fluids in me at times. Other then that I can tolerate preety much everything. I just have to lsiten to my body and stop when I am full, and not drink with my food ( otherwise it hurts like a brick)

I haven't had my surgery yet but my doctor has me changing to pureed foods only 10 days after surgery.

Congrats but where are you getting your protein in? The things you list do not have any? VERY VERY important.

Hi!!! Today is my day 14, and I tryed with puree, but didn't tolerate it, so I have to continue with liquid diet. I hope you can do the transition, just fon't force your new stomach

I started pureed on day 13 and I have to continue on it for 4 weeks. I have made all kinds of pureed meals. I took fajita chicken thighs and fat free refried beans and some 2% velveeta put it in the food processor and it makes approximately 3-4 meals. I make tuna salad. You can puree almost anything.
