Mexico Surgery - What Happened with the Member Trying to Contact Almanza after Surgical Error?

Can't find the thread and with his advertisements here I'm curious if the member had any luck contacting him or the practice, etc.

Real curious to hear the outcome of not only what this doctor did to fix the surgical error he made to this members stomach I believe.

In Dr Almanza's defense, it was someone a forum member knew, so while I dont doubt the possibility that she had a complication as described (a friend of mine had the same issue), the lack of communication from Dr Almanza was really heresay... Anotherember here who had complications there was pleased with how Dr Almanza and his office responded. None of us were party to any contact attempts so its a friend of a friend who says kind of thing...

Maybe I'm just tired John, been up all evening/morning and kind of confused by your post. Guess I was thinking the member who posted the issue was "the" patient, but I could have misunderstood.

Hi Brett, John is correct the person that posted was part of a group that had all had surgery with Dr. Almanza around the same time. The group has stayed in contact with each other and one of the group member had complications.

So the information was hearsay. As a patient of Dr. Amanza what was strange that there was no mention of contacting the U.S. based patient liason. We each have a patient liason to talk to pre and post op surgery.

Even with all the controvery that can surround the Jeruselem Clinic, one of the best parts of the experience is the people you meet there. I am still connected four other patients. Between time together waiting for surgery or spending time in the recovery house there is a connection that stems from the common bond of WLS

I remember hearing about it. Wasn't it an infection. She came back to the states for care and said she was pretty miserable for about a month or so. I'll look for the thread.

Man, I'm now glad I didn't go with Almanza either. I changed my mind about Quinones and was initially considering Almanza.

No doctor is perfect. They're human. They make mistakes. The decider for me would be how they handled their mistake after the fact.

The "oh we''re all human route" has become a cliche and lame excuse these days. Bottom line is surgeon's should have their act together or get out of medicine, period.

I had a complete physical work up before I went to MX. I knew when I booked that I was a perfect candidate for surg. Any issues I may have I would have shared with the clinic. I think this important when going to another country (county, state, ) for med. treatment. We need to be proactive. Having said that I hope that the clinic would return phone calls. I have never had a problem reaching them or having calls returned.
