$32000!! That's just outrageous. I have a $350 co-pay. I've attached a picture of the charges.
Haven't had my sleeve yet but I was in the hospital for 4 days after my double mastectomies with reconstruction and just the hospital bill was $150,000, $60,000 for reconstruction, and $17,000 for the mastectomies. Talk about freakin' outrageous!! Thank GOD for insurance!!
Wow! I was self pay in Kansas City and it was $12,000.00 for the doctor and $3000 for the hospital. And now you know why so many people go to Mexico.
Passed personel goal weight of 135 in 9 months! Wow!

My sleeve bill was over $100,000.00 and included a $50,000.00 charge for an implant......
I called the hospital and advised them I was an Accredited Healthcare Fraud Investigator (I was) and suggested they resubmit a "corrected" bill....they did.
Ended up being $58,000.00 or so....

It's actually the hospital you need to look out for. I'm an expert at healthcare billing, coding, and documentation in my professional life now. Hospitals can get very "creative" with insurance bills to help cover the losses they currently face from charity care and mandated free emergency care.
For example, it appears to me, in my professional opinion, that the above posted bill image contains charges for supplies and pharmacy that seem to be very "creative". The room charge is also slightly high unless it was a private suite (bed with couch for visitor), or multiple nights. The insurance company paid, but when I help patients with self pay claims, I demand a list of specific supplies and pharmacy charges to find $300 aspirin and such...
