I'm going to costa rica for lower body lift, arms, breasts etc in August...anyone else go there?

Hi All: I decided to go to costa rica for my lower body lift, arm lift, breast lift, thigh lift, face lift, and eyes. I'll be there one month, staying at a great recovery retreat where they care for you, 3 meals per day, hospital bed, on nice acreage in the hills overlooking San Jose. Besides being cheaper yet qualified, the idea that I could afford $95/day recovery centre vs. $500+ in the states appeals to me.

Anyone else go there? I've not read up on anyone going there...I'm flying from Vancouver, Canada to Houston, then on to Costa rica...can't wait!!

Just a note of concern, most surgeons here would not do all those procedures in one month. I work with several plastic surgeons and they make you come back for multiple procedures. They usually do no more than two procedures at once. How much are they charging? Good luck

I look forward to hearing how it all went. I wish you the best of luck. BTW: my sister works with a plastic surgeon in South Carolina and he does the whole body at once. She says its tough on the patients, but so far all of them have preferred it to be hard initially and then be done with it.

Hi cloud: There are two surgeons working on me and there's time in between. I wanted to have a complete rest away from home to avoid complications and be close to the surgeon. I have no other health issues, blood pressure on the low side, recover well historically...depends on surgeon's experience how comfortable they are doing more than one procedure and I'll have 2 surgeons, overnight in hospital, more time in hospital if needed, recovery home w help etc. If I went home, I'd do too much. Cost is around $22K for everything. The hospital nights are around $600 vs $7000US. This was a very hard decision for me, believe me...I've been agonizing over it but now it's made and I feel comfortable with it.

The recovery place has a new full electric hospital bed for me, grab bars in the bathroom, up in the mountains so air fresh.

Good luck on your journey, at 217 doesn't sound like you would have alot of skin? I know at my weight I definately will need boobs lol. Let us all know how it goes

I am only 5'3" and had a ton of weight on my arms and stomach...my highest weight was 249lbs.

Hi SC Gal: I'll be worked on by Dr. Rashi Rosenstock and Dr. *****. I leave aug. 3 and consultation August 4th. My first surgery will be August 6th. I have done so much reading of procedures, viewing befores/afters, watching youtubes both personal and instructional. These fellas are experienced and the recovery period there will make the most difference for me. Dr.s in Canada in my area are probably excellent but expensive by comparison and only do one procedure at a time. I don't think they do enough body lifts to become super proficient, either. Also, I find it disruptive to keep taking time off for each operation spread out as well as going 'under' multiple times is a risk.

BTW - my husband forbid me to go to mexico because of the violence and travel advisories...also felt that Costa Rica more 'civilized or demoncrasized' and safer...it really is one of their big economic industries...medical tourism

I'm a little confused here-is 22K the Canadian or Costa Rican cost? And the $600 vs. $7000-is that per week?

OMG! how ethnocentric of me to assume it is in US dollars (never assume Canadian). I just emailed my doctor because I need to make sure. Oh Boy!

Well, you're in luck if it's 22,000 costa rican dollars (colon)...you'll only be paying $43.00 american dollars for the whole shebang...LOL!! Good Luck!

Actually, most Latin American surgeons require American dollars...let me clarify...I was wondering whether the 22K was what it would cost in Canada or Costa Rica? That's what I wasn't clear on.
