    Default Gas Pain After Sleeve

Hi just wondering as I am having my sleeve next week, how painful is the gas pain afterwards & how long (days) did it last? I have my little boy to look after, and wondering if it will be painful if he sits on my knee pressing on my tummy or if I have to pick him up/carry him. Thanks guys

Hi and welcome! I am 1 week post op and feeling great today! Alot of gas pain up until now but gas x does help! Treat your tummy with care! You will not want anyone touching your stomach! Also I dont think you will be able to lift your son for awhile. You dont want to hurt your insides! Good Luck!

    Hello Ali,
    Welcome,
My gas pains lasted about 4 days. Walking and gasx does help alot. As for lifting your son, your not supposed to lift more than 20 lbs. You are going to be tender and sore, you wi;; not want to lift, bend or have anything touch your stomach. Be safe and well.

I had gas pain for about 4-5 days. Just walk, walk, walk, it really does help.

4 days is pretty normal. Do not lift anything over about 5 pounds or you risk herniating the incisions and then your in a world of hurt.

The gas pain does suck but the results are well worth it.

The first two days was when I really felt the gas pains, gas x strips where my best friends and really did help, I also walked a lot. My doctors advise was that even if I was feeling fine I should not be lifting anything over 15 to 20 pounds for the first three weeks, I felt like I could with no problems after the first 4 or 5 days but I didn't even try because you never know what you could be messing up on the inside. Best of luck to you
