that was very quick. I was in 3 nights/4 days. No complications thats what my surgeon required. Luckily my Insurance paid for all hospital bills.
They wanted me to go home the next day, i was concerned going home alone. I stayed an xtra night. No complications but ask for a nausea patch, they put one on me just before going into surgery. I ask for a new one the day i went home. I had no ill effects. Just get plenty of rest and walk as instructed every so many hours. Recovery was an excuse to be lazy for me and went smoothly. I was ready and motivated. I had to take antacids i think the first 4 months and only on occasion now. Weight loss was easy and i still follow the protein first rule. I cant eat more than a cup still 4 yrs out. Ive lost my lunch twice in 4 yrs for over eating. It was my own fault. Im doing fine but could do better with keeping up with vitamins. I try to use decent quality and they can be pricey.
I'd say 3-4. You can even make it at 2 if there's no problem
I was self pay, and planned on one night which would have been fine; I did have a minor complication and ended up staying 2, but despite that did not need anything but tylenol in the hospital, and home was fine (just napped a great deal and walked and drank water).
That said, I live 5 minutes or so from the hospital.
Why are we seeing posts from 2011?
Stayed 4 night and it worked well
I think it's very individual, on how many days you have to stay in hospital after post op. My sister was allowed to go home, almost straight after the surgery. While one of my friends somehow managed to spend there two weeks.
This is really the question we ought to ask. Maybe it's anxiety to get better as soon as possible.
It was pretty quick, 3 days
As you can tell everyone has a different experience. I stayed two nights. My I.V. was really hurting so I wanted it out. The pain from the surgery was not bad but I had a lot of trouble with GERD for about two months. My recovery hasn't been easy. I do not regret it one bit though! Besides GERD and learning what my stomach can tolerate I feel so much better.
for me it was 3 days i guess, maybe 4
