    Angry Emotional??

Before I had my VSG my surgeon told me that it is possible to have a change in emotions. But I do not feel "normal" for lack of a better word. I was sleeved March 23rd and since I cry everyday. I just do not understand. Does anyone else feel this way? Crying, mad, any unusual emotion constantly?

Hi Kerry, its normal to be emotional! Its only been a few days since your surgery... keep your head up! what kind of things are you getting emotional about? scared? not being able to eat?...
I was emotional for the first 2 -3 weeks about food, seeing it, smelling it, craving it! but after 4-5 weeks when you can introduce new whole foods again you will start to appreciate it more...and feel better about the situation because the scales will be moving!
stay positive and drink drink drink, walk walk walk!!!

My surgeon warned me that my emotions might be out of whack while our bodies get used to the hormonal changes that your body goes through with the surgery.

I haven't really had any major problems with my emotions but you, like someone else mentioned, just went through a huge, life changing event and you are bound to have a response. It will take time for your hormones to balance out and adjust ...

Try to lean on your support system and remember there's a whole TON of people here that have been or will be where you are right now.

    Best of luck!

Anaesthetic can cause all sorts of weird emotions too, so feel free to cry , scream, yell, just let it all out. If you have good weather, try screaming under water when you go swimming. Just think of all those tears as excess fluid you don't need.By the way YES YOU ARE NORMAL, although very special cos you are one of us

You can go through and read some of my posts. They are mostly about my emotional meltdowns that come every so often! I've heard that it is perfectly normal!

I think those emotions are normal, on top of it all, the lack of food really messes with a person's emotions.

Your body is going through some real changes. Just when I thought I
had something figured out and was under my control something up
would pop up. Emotions. smells, tastes change. of course mourning
food when you eat out. But it is worth it and I would do it again
tomorrow if I needed too. Enjoy the changes, it gets better and better.
