    Smile Protein Drinks

    Hello,

I had the sleeve surgery a week ago tmw and already down 15lbs. I have an awful heightened sense of smell so the protein drinks are tough to get down. Counting down to next Thursday when I can begin introducing soft foods.

Any suggestions on a good Protein Drink?

It's different for everyone but a good rule of thumb is to wait at least 3 weeks post op before you start introducing soft foods.

Did your surgeon/nutritionist discuss your eating phases with you?

I find the GNC protein powders to be fantastic as a source of protein (the vanilla is kinda sweet, but the strawberry and the chocolate are quite good) as are Atkins drinks (I'm assuming you are in the US and I apologize if you aren't).

I mix my GNC powder with just a bottle of water and sip on it all morning long.

    Best of luck and CONGRATULATIONS!

I drink the protien shakes from Costco. Choc and Vanilla are the only choices but not bad, 30 grams of protien.

I had problems with the thicker shakes so I am 13 weeks out and still drinking the clear Isopure - hardly any after tast at all - the Grape Frost is the best I think. There are lots of suggestions on this blog about getting flavorless protein powder and adding it to things like jello or oatmeal - maybe that would help?

Walmart has a brand called Body Fortress, Super Advanced, vanilla flavor, and I mix in one those powdered drink mixes and the protein takes on whatever flavor I put in there. It is not griany like some protein drinks can be. If I want chocolate, I use a little powdered cocoa from the baking department because it is low carb. For milk shake consistency, I use Lactaid.
