Hiatal Hernia Repair

My surgery is scheduled for Friday. I just had my final appt. with the surgeon today and found out that they are also going to do the hernia repair. For those who also had this, I was wondering if this makes recovery any more difficult or painful?

I just had my surgery 6 days ago and they found that I had a hiatal heria while they doing the surger and fixed it while they were in there. I could not tell at all.

i had a small sore throat or discomfort but nothing serious

They discoverd one in my as well during surgery, all fixed, no problems!

I had some trouble with pain near my left shoulder and back. Doc said it was gas from the repair of the hiatal hernia. It wasn't too bad and was short lived. Well worth it if moving forward the reflux will be gone!!!!!

I had it too and had an uneventful, very little pain or nausea recovery. I'm a month out and have to eat slow with very smal bites or it feels like it is stuck in my chest. Have isolated, one hiccup too.

I had the repair and my recovery was uneventful. I have had a c-section and hysterectomy and they were far worse than this whole surgery was. Good luck!
