Default Feel like a failure and don't understand

Had my sleeve on March 2, 2012. I have lost around 32 lbs. I exercise I track all my eating and stay around 800 calories. I am hungry all the time. I do have bad days but not losing at least 2lbs a week is killing me inside. I feel like such a failure.

dont feel like a failure!!! we all get these stallls and yes they suck!!! i think its better to loose the weight slowly then super fast!! i struggled with a stall for a month and then one day when i did my wii fit in the morning i went down 2.2 lbs and have started loosing slowly again but im happy with that!!
just dont give up and when u feel hunger pains drink a protein drink or water instead of food! thats what i do!

By bad days is when I go over 800 calories. I have never gone over 1000 or when I don't get all my liquids in. I feel hungry so often. But I keep trying

Me to.I have a blog on VST and I posted this morning hat I hate this sleeve,it is driving me crazy.I feel like a total failure and I cant even eat my stress away.It sucks.

But being the idiot I am,I am always hopeful that tomorrow the scale will have dropped a few pounds just to make me feel better...and when it didnt, again,I hated the sleeve again.

This is emotional battery.Harder than having to move from one country to another (we are in prosess, leaving in 2 months.)

But hey, what can we do?It is what it is and today I am going to eat carbs.

    Hope you feel better soon.

    xxo

I do understand how you feel. I have lost my initial wt. and then that's been it! I am not eating too much, but I could get to the gym more. I am discouraged becasue tons of people say they never even hit the gym! I am thankful that I haven't put weight back on, but that wasn't why I paid so much money OUT OF POCKET to have this surgery either. I still have a good 30 pounds or more to go. Hang in there. I am upping my protein to see if this will work. Good luck and just keep trying....

If you're hungry all the time, you may want to consider meeting with a nutritionist to tweak your diet. I find I'm hungry and craving all sorts of junk food constantly if I eat a lot of white carbs like bread, pasta, rice, etc. If my carbs come from vegetables, beans and whole grains, I hardly have any cravings or hunger at all. Making sure your meals are protein packed AND that you have some fat in them (yes, we need fat to feel full!) could also help.

I find when my protein is up, my fat is down, and my water intake is good that I lose. When my calaroies are low and water intake is low I tend to stay at the same weight. If you have a diatician it might be good to talk to them. Give it time and be patient.

Just for instance a typical day for me is:
    Breakfast-Muscle Milk Light 150 cal
Snack- (2) 1.5 oz lean Meatballs 200 cal
Lunch-3 oz meat 1/4 cup veggies 250 cal
    Snack-Yogurt 100 cal
Supper-3 oz meat 1/4 cup veggies, 1/4 cup starch (sweet pot) 250 cal
    Water-4 16oz bottles

If I am still hungry at night another yogurt or muscle milk light. This brings me in at 1000 cal or less. I don't alway get it all in and thats when I seem to stall. For instance if I skip lunch or my snacks because I am busy then I will NOT lose any weight. I have to get close to this and the weight will fall off otherwise it is a challenge. I think the sleeve by itself will not do it all for everyone. Some of us have to work at it with our diet and exercise. Hang in there, we are proud of what you have done so far.

Are you eating a lot of carbs? I only feel hungry all the time when I don't start my morning with some good protein.

How many times are you eating a day? What are you eating?

For exercise, it is a key factor in maintaining weightloss so it is great you are doing it.

800 calories is very low for a man-(I'm a woman and my health plan has reccomended 1000 calories a day) so I would second the recommendation to talk to a dietician. You can actually take in too few calories and slow your weight loss.

I think you are doing great! If you are following the rules, sounds like you are, at some point you just have to trust the process and let your body lose at the rate it needs to. Sure, a nutritionalist can help you tweak - mine sure did and I have shared some of that on other posts. I think it is helpful to talk it over with a knowledgable person.

I have typed up several times my own personal experience with "hunger" in the early months. In summary
-are you taking a PPI, acid can mimic hunger
-are you fully hydrated, thirst can mimic hunger
-are you getting in your full dose of protein - it is more satiating but for some of us, it isn't the food we prefer
-finally, maybe you are still just adjusting. Meaning, you have old engrained habits and so the brain is saying "feed me" even though the body isn't initiating the request. I found that head hunger decreased considerably but, it took time and practice to change those habits.

Hang in there - this is a journey, but I think so worth it.
