Great site: real women post their pics with weight and size- great for body dysmorphia

I have always had body dysmorphia issues. In middle school when I stopped eating my counselor had my mother trace my body on a giant paper with markers, and even then I refused to believe my size. I insisted my mother had been angling the marker to make me smaller. I have always thought I was bigger than I am. Even now, 49 lbs down since surgery, I feel like I look about 15 lbs smaller, not almost 50 lbs smaller.

Anyway, I found this site called My Body. Real women post their own photos of their bodies in whatever outfit they wish. Some are in work clothes, some are in bathing suits, etc. You can search by height, weight, clothing size, even body type. It is great for being able to see a picture of SOMEONE ELSE at my height, weight, clothing size, and body shape. I am amazed at how good they look since I always feel like I look terrible. It helps me realize that I don't look that bad. So, everyone hurry over to that site! It is so great!

Great idea! I started a photo album and my fiancé is going to take monthly pics of me so that I can see the difference. Even after losing 23 pounds from surgery I pull a shirt from my closet and say to myself, this isn't going to fit, but it does! Awesome work on 50 pounds, just think, that's a 5/6 year old or 10 cases of pop.

I friend told me to start a separate photo folder where I cut my head off the pics. Actually I did it with a few pics and when I run across them, my instant thought is something like, cute outfit, nice shirt or something like that...I no longer "see" myself the same way.
