I have always had body dysmorphia issues. In middle school when I stopped eating my counselor had my mother trace my body on a giant paper with markers, and even then I refused to believe my size. I insisted my mother had been angling the marker to make me smaller. I have always thought I was bigger than I am. Even now, 49 lbs down since surgery, I feel like I look about 15 lbs smaller, not almost 50 lbs smaller.
Anyway, I found this site called My Body. Real women post their own photos of their bodies in whatever outfit they wish. Some are in work clothes, some are in bathing suits, etc. You can search by height, weight, clothing size, even body type. It is great for being able to see a picture of SOMEONE ELSE at my height, weight, clothing size, and body shape. I am amazed at how good they look since I always feel like I look terrible. It helps me realize that I don't look that bad. So, everyone hurry over to that site! It is so great!
***FROM THE SITE: The My Body Gallery project needs real women! We need your help to develop the project and build a collection of photos that will help more women see themselves more clearly. Upload a picture of your full body. Our photo submission process also allows you to block out part of the image to protect your identity, if you wish. Please note that you must be 18 to upload a photo
