How will i ever be able to go from eating any thing i want to only a bit at a time. I cant follow a diet now how will i do this.
I don't know I often wonder the same thing. I have been reading a blog by time4victory, she is so inspirational, look her up. best of luck, and never give up!
Right after the surgery you won't want to eat everything and you will be focusing on the amount of liquid you should be getting and the right amount of protein. As you manage your new protein diet you'll find you don't like the taste of the old "bad" food. Further out from the surgery you'll be able to eat whatever you want, but in smaller portions. Dangerous if you did not change your habits in the first month. My fitness pal is a great help to keep track of what you need to eat yet and how many calories used.
to be honest when u have the sleeve u have no choice theres just no way you could eat somuch, you feel sik and like you have food stuck in your throat and that makes u feel soooo uncomfortable.before u have the sleeve u must try and cut foods out and eat smaller portions to prepare yourself, i must say im only 4 weeks out and still trial and error sum days but so far i love my sleeve and have a long journey ahead, but best thing i have ever done! good luck
There is an adjustment time ... right after surgery you can't eat but a couple of bites but after a while you can eat more. I was pretty much eating until I was full but found out that wasn't a good plan. Now I eat 4 oz or less at a time about every 3 hours. I eat within a half hour of getting up and within a half hour of going to bed. Since I started what I call grazing (eating small amounts often) I am losing more weight and faster.

That's the difference between "dieting" and being sleeved. I couldn't last on a diet pre-sleeve either, or I would but I'd gain it all back. The sleeve gives you control. You just can't eat as much, and you're not at all or not nearly as hungry. That's the beauty of it.
You no longer have that choice on how much you can eat, your body tells you, enough is enough. You will adjust, it takes time to figure out what you can and can't eat. I actually mourned food, I cried when I couldn't eat chicken wings..but I can eat 3 now, down from 24...not too shabby!!! This sleeve has become my best friend!!
Agreed from Diana above - Your stomach cant hold all that food again, and it's so cool - you dont' even fell like eating anyway.. I can't wait to start back on real foods REMEMBER - YOU WILLL BE ABLE TO EAT REAL FOODS AGAIN just not right away..
