Ulcers after Surgery

So I did a lil research and I am thinking now the pain between my breast bone and my belly button in an ulcer. I was prescribed prilosec as one of my after surgery meds to help prevent this but it seems not to have worked.
Has anyone else had this happen, and if so what did you to do get rid of it? What helps ease the pain?

Hi Candy, could it be in the area where your liver is?
Question: Did they do an extra incision in the center of your abdomen to insert an instrument to hold your liver away from the area where they worked on your stomach?
Just wondering if maybe they nicked or punctured something they shouldn't have.. ask your surgeon or doctor to check you out and maybe run some tests. Don't mess around if you have strange pains. Please keep us posted.

I had 2 ulcers one had perforated before I went home and the second started bleeding so they had to undo the plication. I had these ulcer before Iwent for the surgery and didn't know. My doctor gave me a antibiotic pak that you take for 1 week and it should clear up. the ulcers are caused from abacteria that you get htye do not know how people get the bacteria some people just do.hope this helps

i had ulcer bacteria was told after surgery to take prevacid a week after surgery but never did..it was . about 4 pills to take in the morning and at night. the pills are too horrible tasting to take crushed..im going to wait till i can take whole pills to take them....does anyone think this will damage my stomach if i wait?

Thank you all for your replies. There is a reason I am NOT a doctor and should not diagnose myself. My "ulcer" ended up being a blood clot in my main vein of my stomach. No fun and not good. I will start a new thread with all the info.
