New you at 60!!!

In the process of jumping through all the necessary hoops for insurance coverage. Will probably be late summer before I am sleeved. Would love to hear from the 60+ folks who have been sleeved. I will be 60 next week and looking forward to having a new lease on life after my surgery!! Also, any tips for adjusting to the bipap/cpap. Thanks and blessings to all!

I'm 52 and can relate to your new lease on life. I wish you well.

Oh and there is a way to adjust your Cpap, my husband adjusted mine and I just let my Dr know, he then wrote a new script so it would match my setting and be covered my insurance.

Hi Ann!
I am 60 and getting the op was the best thing ever, wish I could have had it thirty years ago. The op went well with only the small five incisions to heal which took no time at all. I was glad my hubby was here to help after the op as it took me quite a few days to get on my feet and independent although I felt better day by day. I was very tired on about the third week - lack of protein my doc said. Hope your op goes well and good luck!

I did it at 54, so I can relate. There is no time limit on taking steps to improve your health. You will expand not only your life expectancy but also your enjoyment of life. Go for it! And as for the C-Pap, I no longer need mine!

Only took a couple of weeks after my surgery for the snoring and sleep apnea episodes to stop. Looking to donate the machine to a company that refurbishes medical equipment and gives to needy people or sells at discounts. Best wishes to you.

Hi Ann,
I am 62 and will get the sleeve just days before my 63rd birthday. I had a band for 1 1/2 years and had it removed 10/10 due to scar tissue. I lost 70 lbs with the band and have gain back about 40 so I can't wait to have this done. Your body really is the best guide to what you can eat, it was not hard when I had the band to adjust my eating. It's amazing how little you really need to eat.
