I am from Canada, I have an opportunity to have the gastric sleeve performed in mexico by Dr. Almanza,, I want to know if there are any other canadians out there, that has had this done and if so where?

Well I'm not from Canada but I have been researching it for over a year.Dr Almanza was the only one that had both experience and was in my budget.
highest weight 266lb
before pre-op diet 244
1 week post op 231 -13lb

well I'm nervous too! but it really helps to talk to people on here that are going to Almanza, before I joined I would wake up in the middle of the night with panic attacks. Since I joined I've been following people that are going to him, everyone seem to be okay, and have nothing but good thing to say. But yes I feel it is safe to go to mexico for surgery. my surgery is April 22 I will be posting about my experience. so we should keep in touch

What really helps me feel safe and secure is watching all the testimonials on youtube , it REALLY helps!! or talk to anyone on here who has been to him, I hear all sorts of greatness about him .

Yes...Yes...Yes...I had mine done by Dr. Almanza in Tijuana, and I felt safe once I got there. They have their own vans and take you everywhere you need to go. You are very well taken care of. It was worth doing, and I would do it again if I had to.

I went with Dr. Alvaraez in Mexico-paid through medicard-I'm from Alberta-best decision I made-year out next week went beyond my goal!!

Im not canadian but ive done more than my share of research and I have also chosen Dr. Almanza from Mexico. I have the opportunity to have it done in the US but he has outstanding good history and reputaion with previous patients. The only thing that might scare anyone is the setting. Its not a hospital but more like a clinic in the middle of a shopping strip. Ive been to a few foriegn countries and it is normal for them. I have read that it is very clean and safe and once you get in you will feel more comfortable. I have mine scheduled for May 8 but i think right now Louise said earliest appt is in June :-[ i pray everything works out for u.
