Just wondering if anyone does this for excercise after surgery and when did you start it? Thanks.

Hi, Yes I have done aquasize. It feels good and you start out slow. They might have the class do 10 reps of some exercise and you may be only able to do 5, but that's ok. Everyone needs to go at their own pace. I will say that after the first few times I went to the class, about 2 hrs afterwards, I was spent! So tired, but it was a good tired, knowing that I did something good for me. If you have any joint problems, this is the absolute best exercise you can do. Now that I have lost 85 lbs, I do not have near the joint pain that I used to have. I know don't even think about running up and down the stairs in my house, I used to dread it. I also go to the gym and do the recumbant bike and the 30 min workout and I have been doing that twice a week. This really helps. Again, start out slow, don't push too hard. I started at the gym and aquasize when I was 8 wks. post op. The dr. said I could start whenever I thought I could tolerate it. I never went to the gym in my life before my surgery, now I am a regular!
Be careful swimming if all your incisions are not entirely healed. I had one of mine get a little yucky after I went a little crazy swimming 4 days in one week. My doctor had approved it because they were pretty much healed, but one really small one got oozy, but I just cleaned it a lot and it went away eventually. Got me a little worried, though.
