Two-week Pre-op Diet Starts Tomorrow

Hey Everyone,
So, I got a surgery date, 3/9/12. That means I have to start my 2 week liquid diet tomorrow -- on a Friday...really who does that!!! I ate everything I could think that I wanted this week and today I felt like I was going to my LAST MEAL, like I was going to be on lock down or something... LOL. For breakfast I had a breakfast burrito with sausage, egg, cheese, and hashbrowns. Lunch I had yummy meatloaf and mash potatoes and for dinner, which I just finished about 2 hrs ago, I had cornbread dressing, turnip greens, candied yams, mac and cheese, grilled chicken wings and down home smoked sausage with a tall glass of diet dr. pepper! As I'm typing this message, I am eating dessert which is banana pudding. OMG, I'm going to be sick tomorrow which I think will be good to start my liquid diet anyway! Please pray with me that I make it through the weekend!!! Thanks GS Family! Good nite

OH MY! What a meal OR MEALS!! I am starving to death! Been on my clear liquid diet since Monday! UGH!

Ha, this is to funny I did the same thing on my last day. I'm on the protein shakes for breakfast, lunch and meat and green veggies for dinner, I feel like I'm starving. I'm a day ahead of you for surgery, we must pray for each other to get through this phase. I feel like my mind is playing tricks on me lol, when I normally wouldn't eat breakfast I want it so bad among other things... I can't wait for this phase to be over. Good luck with surgery, keep us posted!!

Thanks Riesy! I can't have anything but nutrimed bars, pudding, shakes and broth. Those I got from the doctor's office are so nasty...well the nutrition bars are ok. I bought some sugar free pudding and jello from the grocery store that I've been eating instead, but they don't have added protein so I think that's why I'm still hungry all the time. Anyway, Good Luck to you too!!!

Try Isopure protein drink from GNC it has 40grams of protein and tastes greats. It's not a shake it's like a juice you would buy to drink on the regular. They moved my surgery up to Monday, I'm so thankful!!!

Good luck to both of you! I'm finding I am more tired while on this starvation diet. I'm also a bit crabby, and cant concentrate as well. How about you? 11 days till surgery. Sigh!!!!!

I thought it would get better after like 5 days or so...... NOT, I am one hungry, irritable, moody woman!!! Lol, I can't wait for surgery I'm miserable..

Hi all I have to start the shake diet tomorrow as my surgery is on 19/3/2012 and im really scared that i wont be able to stick to it and that im going to hate the shakes I bought. I dont like any type of shakes even the good milkshakes from a cafe so i cant see myself liking these. Did anyone else struggle with the pre surgery diet?
