Default Will I stop losing the weight?

Just thinking aloud here....I am at a good enough weight for myself after 4 months post op (I'm I guess satisfied), but would love to lose yet a little more. I'm becoming a bit lazy on my exercises but have a good eating habit. Has anyone heard of someone not losing weight after only 4 months post op? do you think if I continue like this (eating healthy but not doing exercises) I'll be able to keep losing? I think I'm just abit paranoid but would be good hearing what people think?

I guess the first thing that comes to mind is your health. I haven't been sleeved yet so I'm not sure how useful I'll be, lol. If you feel you're at a good weight and the doc says your health is in a good place, then I wouldn't worry about the weight. However, exercise is so important for good health and for preventing things like osteoporosis. I would suggest continuing some form of exercise just for health reasons. If you take in more calories your weight loss will probably slow down, healthy calories I hope I was a little bit helpful. Good luck!

Well for myself I hope those eating changes I have made will get me to my goal. I would think it is as it is now and the weight loss will slow down but when I get to my "Happy" point one day I will probably have to change up my eating habits again to maintain weight instead of losing. its going to be a learning experience that I welcome.

Well, are you still dropping lbs now, or have you been maintaining? Maybe you are in a stall if you are not dropping lbs?
If you are still dropping but it has slowed...seems that just happens, sadly... but you are still dropping. So you'll most likely continue if you stay on plan and it will just be slower.

I'm going to speak on this one from my personal experience. I was sleeved Aug 31 and since December, have remained at about 50 lbs gone which is great but for 2 months I haven't seen the scale move much if at all. What I noticed is that though I hadn't gone back to eating a lot of sugar, I now craved crunchy, salty foods like sunflower kernels or nuts which have a ton of calories (and I can eat a lot of). I think it was the calorie creep. I've since started working out more regularly and keeping track of my calories, it's amazing how quickly they add up. I no longer just rely on my tummy to tell me when I'm full. I am 15 lbs away from my doctor's goal, pretty happy where I am but would really like to lose the other 15. My suggestion, count your calories to see where you are (if not already doing so), you might be surprised at how many you're eating. If you're keeping track and staying within limits, increase your workouts, and drink your water...it's likely just your body making an adjustment and the scale will move again. Good luck!

I think it depends alot on your height and weight (or BMI) when you start. They say the average person getting sleeved looses 50% of goal weight (and that means keeping it off several years atleast too). The reason for that is it is harder to loose when you get to 50% weight loss because your smaller body will require less calories than it did before.

For example a 45 yr old 5'6" tall woman weighing 280 lbs living a sedentary lifestyle can eat 2800 cals a day and will still loose 4 lbs a week!! So imagine what eating only 800 cals a day after surgery does!! but a 45yr old 5'6 190 lb woman living a sedentary lifestyle eating only 1500 cals a day will only loose 1 lb a week!! So Yes there is a final plateau and yes someone could get to it in 4 months if they dont have alot to loose or loose very fast at first or if they are eating alot of slider foods and high cal foods. Most people begin to be able to eat more in one meal at 4 to 6 months out. So you often start to consume more calories at this time than you did at first too. At 4 months out our tummy can often hold 4 to 6 oz at a time.

I just a ate a piece of a medium supreme pizza for lunch with garlic butter on it. it weighed only 3 oz, but I am sure it was easily 500 cals or more.I am pretty sure I am eating more than 1500 cals a day but I am not tracking.....I am nearly 4 months out myself. I can definitely fit more in my tummy now than I could in the first 2-3 months. But I am still loosing weight.

I'm still losing the lbs (no stall yet), but I guess it's slower then before.

It isn't always as predictable as this. I am 5'6" and weigh 265 lbs. Since January 8th, I have averaged under 1000 calories a day. Some days I am under 700 calories. I walk for one hour, 5 days a week. I definitely DO NOT lose 4 lbs a week (I WISH!). The past two weeks I have lost NOTHING.
Even on the Biggest Loser, working as hard as they do, sometimes their bodies just don't follow along on a mathematical schedule. Fat bodies are notorious for rebelling against our best efforts.

I understand what you are saying, BUT do you want to end up fat again? Remember this is a tool not a fix. Just walk & you will lose. The first 6 months are important. It's when you loose the most. Keep you eye on the ball.
