    Default Skin Care

As I read LOTS of information, I am not seeing information about skin care pre or post surgery. I am wondering if anyone has any tips about products or things they did in months or weeks prior to surgery that they found helped with maintaining some level of elasticity of the skin. I am hoping to minimize the need for post surgery reconstructive procedures as much as possible. I know I will need to get something done to my tummy when I lose the weight but if I can save other areas now, that would be a blessing.

    Any thoughts?

Good question. I think it depends on how old you are, how elastic your skin is, how much weight you have to lose, and whether or not you exercise regularly as you are losing the weight. Everyone's answer is going to be different.

There really isn't much you can do. You're gonna have loose skin if you're gonna have it and you're not if you're not. Just try to drink plenty of water and keep your skin moisturized. Good Luck

I take special care of my skin. I use baby oil on a bath cloth and rub all over my body after a shower. I do not use extreme hot water. I use the oil immediately after the shower every day. I allow oil to absorb and rub a good lotion all over before puting on my clothes for the day. I am trying hard to drink enough water and take my vitamins everyday. I take 10,000 mg Biotin a day for nail and hair. I have really nice nails now and have not lost any hair. In fact hair looks pretty good. I am making sure I eat my protein first and keep carbs down low. Also do not forget your fats. They are important to your whole body. I am wrinkling some on my arms but that just might be being 56 yrs old too.
