Doc thinks I have a stricture. I can't get anything soft solid down. It gets stuck and painful and the reflux is miserable after. Has this happened to anyone
What caused this? What are they going to do about it?
My husband had a stricture and they usually do an EGD or an Upper GI test. those were his symptoms, he usually could not anything and just on liquids.
To fix the stricture they do an EGD and they use this little device(balloon) to dilate the opening to your stomach.
I hate to scare anyone, but the first one for my husband didn't go so well and they caused a rupture in his stomach and had to be rushed into surgery and was in hospital for a week. They tell you that before they do it that is one of the complications that can happen is something like 1/1000 cases! well he was the lucky one that day! Wish you luck ladies!
