    Smile pain when eating

I had my sleeve in October, all is going well and i am chuffed at the weight loss but everytime i eat more than 4 mouthfuls of food i have pain, it seems to be around the opening of my sleeve. Is this normal? I am fine drinking fluid, the pain is a heavy ache and lasts about 5mins or so. it happens with most food types. has anyone got some words of wisdom for me. cheers helen x

Are you chewing your food up til it's almost liquid in your mouth? And eat very very slowly.

I'd like to have the answer to this myself. I was sleeved in December and I, too, have an uncomfortable feeling after eating almost anything. I told the dietician that it was like "Clockwork Orange" -- I'm being trained not to eat because it hurts every time I do.

I guess "hurts" is too strong a word. It's uncomfortable and unpleasant. I can drink and I can eat yogurt, but anything else causes an unpleasant feeling and a lot of burping.

    Anyone have any insight?

I did at first and I'm 12 weeks out. You might need to have that checked out.

I have experience this with various foods, mostly meat. I also have it happen even now (12 weeks out) if I eat too much. Even if it is one bite too many and I have only eaten a small amount. It is a very uncomfortable feeling. I got it last night just eating some soup.

I only have this issue with tacos. But be sure to take a bite and chew it at least 30 times before swallowing. Also, your meal should take you 30 minutes to cosume. Slow and steady. Take a bite, put down the fork, and chew. Then sit for a minute, and then take another bite. It's a long process, but it will elminate the pain. At least that is what helped me.

Take your time eating, your stomach is still swollen and healing, the uncomfortable feeling is normal, I still get it when I eat to much. I would still suggest you have a chat to your Doc or support team just to make sure.

I'm having the same problem. I'm only 4.5 weeks out, but every time I try to eat, I'm very uncomfortable for about 10 minutes. I feel like I've swallowed a ton of air that is screaming to escape. After several painful burps, it eases up.
