    Default Is this the slimies?

Ok, so I overdid it. Tried to eat 2 scrambled eggs (don't ask me why). I think I ate 1 egg plus 1 bite. And boy was that one extra bite one too many. I feel VERY uncomfortable. In the back of my mouth I keep getting something similar to what one might cough up if they had a cold, except I am not coughing. Is this the "slimies" I have heard about?

I would say yes. I asked my doctor about it he said that occurs when your stomach is so full the saliva needed to break up the ingested food back ups until the stomach can churn up the food more to make room for the saliva. I haven't had it happen but it sure sounds like what is going on. Hang in there this to shall pass!

For me, it is excessive saliva and spitting.

Yeah....the excessive saliva and LOTS of mucus in the back of my throat. I have had to spit out mouthfuls of the stuff. You PAY big time when you eat beyond capacity. Even 8 months out, that capacity changes from day to day (sometimes meal to meal). It's a very graphic lesson in what not to do. We haven't paid too much attention to our "innerds" in the past but now we have to. Just another less from our friend the sleeve. :-)

Oh yeah, fun eh? And like Chris said, each meal requires you to pay attention because it can be different amounts each time! Density of the food plays a huge role. I've even scaled down to large or medium eggs v the XL ones and only do one at a time. Sometimes not being able to finish that. For me, eggs are tricky!

Yes, those are the slimies. I am 4 months out and just had them the first time last week. I ate a few too many bites of watermelon, and ate too fast. I felt a bit pukey and then the slime came! It only lasted about 10 minutes, but it was nasty.

Yup got this Saturday for the first time. Leaving work at 7p and driving home I snacked on some chicken I had saved at lunch. I wasn't paying attention and before I knew it "the tummy" kicked my ass. OMG painful and nasty! I knew this was going to be a problem that was going to be difficult. Gobbling food.
    Oh that hurt.

Ah, nasty... I had it on day 2 post op. I didn't realize that was actually one of the many things to look forward to... I was coughing and drank my water a little to fast. The water came back up and so did the slimies or foamies or what ever it is. DISGUSTING...

You hit the nail on the head...this is the slimies. I have also gotten them if I try too fatty of foods, or have too much sugar, and it usually is a precursor to my throwing up. when you think you have figured out how much you can eat, eat less than that ... I am feeling for you, good luck
